Revolutionaries

I spent most of yesterday chilling with this group of revolutionaries that Aram wants me to get involved with. I had hella fun because I haven't talked about these things or even this much for a long time. The group is mostly college kids, although CVHS was represented by Daria. Yeah watching the exit polls all day we really did get optimistic, Kerry certainly seemed ahead. That's why I'm totally suspicious of fraud in Florida but especially in Ohio. But there are no ways to check the electronic machines, they spit out results with no receipts. That's why Kerry had to resign, there was nothing left to verify ( ... )

drugs and philosophy just make politics harder to grapple with. deep narrow knowledge is bliss. one or the other i think. sorry im on too much caffeine and not enough mental excercise. i just think Dan's dichotomy along the with the aforementioned will cause my head to explode one of these days. its not like theres a right answer or something, and that bugs the hell out of me.

how many of my seconds are allowed for me, and how many do i owe to the future of humanity?

Yeah, once you've been in that state where you know that there isn't a bad thing in all creation and you know that that truth is always out there waiting for you... I mean it sent me on very different intellectual paths for a very long time. But should I fight the bad things? Or should I accept that there are no bad things and pursue that bliss? Is this apparent duality just another illusion? I'm pulled in many different directions.

I think quite a while back when you were talking about treading lightly on this earth (or maybe you used the phrase "do no harm") re: 5 finger dicounts, you mightve been on to something. Of course Im not suggesting it as THE answer, but maybe the most morally and hedonistically satisfying (eh?) route is that which attempts at harm reduction and maybe even baby steps forward, while keeping personal happiness at a priority. you set minimums of action toward global and local change, and then try to achieve the maximum good times for you while not dropping below that minimum. of course where you set that minimum will be dependent on how doing ¨good¨ affects your happiness, so it becomes circular at a certain point. but its probably silly anyway to delineate these things so ( ... )
