Some submission things

I'd like to submit a new story to Abyss & Apex, which just opened to subs for May 2009, but I can't. They already have a story of mine, one that's been with them since November 2008. I queried about it three weeks ago; no response yet. The part that worries me is the query address is also the submission address and so I received an automatic

I think I shall have to scrounge up a sub for Black Gate, just for the sake of saying that I once submitted to them. lol. Although, considering how I don't write adventure and I don't write epic, would it even be worth sending anything to them?

Oh and I have a story that's been at A&A coming up 90 days by the 6th of May. You're lots more patient than I am. I'm already wondering if I should query.

I'd say it's worth submitting something to Black Gate. John's a very nice editor to work with, and the magazine seems to be going strong on its schedule.

As for A&A, patience is all I have left.

A friend just got accepted from A&A's November pile. But i feel your pain, as I have one in there still myself. Ironically, the story that they have miiiight be OK for Black Gate, assuming it gets decided on in time.

And unless an S&S story drops out of the sky into my lap, that ain't gonna happen either.
