TOUR 2007 HOKKAIDO (August 11th, 17:30; August 12th, 12:00 & 16:30)

Note: Show 1 = 8/11 17:30, Show 2 = 8/12 12:00, Show 3 = 8/12 16:30

Zukkoke Otokomichi - Shota wants Subaru to put him in his skirt. If Subaru’s skirt isn’t on him enough, he would pull it down so that he goes into the skirt more. During the first show, Subaru’s hip rolling with Shota in his skirt was pretty intense, haha. It’s scary that we’re all getting used to this scene. In 3, right before the skirt-in, Subaru did a slow and nasty boon boon toward Shota’s face and Shota liked it, haha. Shota’s usually clapping his feet while in the skirt and comes out of the skirt with a big smile. In 3, I was watching Shota like always but then saw someone fall on his butt behind him… it was Maru, who apparently slipped (or “zukkoke-d”) while doing the “Zukkoke Otokomichi!” dance!

Kanfuu Fighting - For the first two shows, I saw Ohkura feeling up Shota’s ass and Shota touching Ohkura’s. Shota had his butt sticking out for him and everything. The “Sora ga haretara!” etc. was done in so many different ways that I can’t remember much, but Hina’s “Positive kibun de!” was usually done in a normal way.

Sukiyanen Osaka - Subaru’s way of saying Hokkaido was like “Ho! …kkai doooo.” Hina and Shota were doing the weird dance again. Show 1 was Ohkura, 2 was Shota and 3 was Maru for the greetings… I think. I’m only sure of 2 and 3 because Shota had to do the greeting while he was dancing with Hina and Maru had to do it when Subaru was about to kiss him. Actually, this might be when Ohkura said the cliché “Hokkaido wa dekkaido!” in 1.

Greetings - Ohkura was weird in 1, haha. He was like “Are you all ready? Let’s do the usual thing! Ready? …‘dacchuuno!’” The phrase “dacchuuno” was used long time ago by this duo called Pirates who were two girls with big boobs and whenever they said “dacchuuno” they would put their arms together and emphasize their breasts. Shota and Maru, who were waiting behind Ohkura, were like “what do you mean ‘the usual,’ you have never done it before!” Shota’s greetings were something like 1: “Let’s get crazy! Eight is crazy!” 2: “Are you really ready? We’re quite tough to handle so you al better be ready!” 3: “If you don’t enjoy yourself, I might have to kill you all!” Maru’s was 1: “(looking at everyone waving at him) Wow, there are so many penlights!” 2: “I might break this Kitaeeru (the name of the arena) down… I will make you not be able to stand up!” and then left the stage with an evil laugh, “Hahaha… Hahahaha… HAHAHAHA” 3: He said “Louder! Louder! What if this was the very last time we’re in Hokkaido! Louder!” and then “Namara!! (means “very” in the Hokkaido dialect) Namara yabai!!!” and he made the crowd say the “Yabai!” part; Maru: “Namara!” Crowd: “Yabai!” and we kept on doing this until Maru left by saying Namara a few more times and “Namara Daisuki.”

Hina usually came on the screen with a “What the hell is wrong with him (Maru)” face on. He did his usual “Hi,” to each section except for the last one and of course they all booed. He was like “See, you guys (the ones that got ignored) get mad but the rest seem to enjoy it all the time!” He asked the guys in the crowd for their voices except for 2. There was this one guy who let out a loud voice in 3 in the middle of the stands and Hina pointed and said “Good job!” Yoko said in 3 that he had just gone to Maruyama Park with Maru-chan (between 2 and 3) and saw the ski-jump place and said it was big. Subaru asked the Eighters how we were doing and in the end said Murakami Shingo how are you! Hina wasn’t really prepared for it in 2 but was in 3 and Subaru was like “He’s good, he’s good…” and that was the last that he had said, haha. While Ryo starts talking, usually Hina starts adjusting Shota’s clothes and plays janken while Maru and Subaru do something together as well. Ryo was hyper throughout the weekend. Ryo’s were 2: “Like Maru said, I’m doing real well today, too. I will make you not be able to stand up!” 3: “I want to hug each and every one of you! I want to give you a hot kiss to each and every one of you! But I can’t; don’t have time for that… so I will sing this song: Explosion.”

Explosion - I think it was 2 when Ohkura said “Sapporo” instead of “Explosion.” In 3 he said “Dosanko (=a nick name for “people from Hokkaido”).”

Misetekure - In 1, the mini moving stage for Yoko’s was higher than Shota’s. They had to exchange stages in the middle, but Yoko didn’t let Shota move by putting his hand on Shota’s head and not allowing him to advance forward. Maru and Hina are always in their own little words during the rap. Subaru is very hyper during this song.

Eden - I love watching Shota’s veins popping up on his hand when he plays his solo. So manly!

1: ONE, 2: Stereo, 3: Down Up - In 1, Shota started playing his guitar wildly as the others got ready (ie Subaru taking his shirt off and switching to an electric guitar). There was a great roar from the crowd when they started playing ONE. In 2, Ryo was already wearing his hat during Eden which means that it’s his solo day that day. I was impressed at their performance for Stereo; they’re getting better and better and I really like the new arrangement where they stop playing for a few seconds letting Ryo sing by himself, then join in later for greater effect. In 3, they did Down Up. I hadn’t heard this in a while so I was happy!

1: Fantastic Music, 2: Forward, 3: Fantastic Music - For 1 and 3, Yoko sang Fantastic Music with Ohkura’s neoki dokkiri VTR like the one in Tokyo Dome. It’s funny because I am beginning to miss Wonder Boy; I liked Fantastic Music better when Wonder Boy first came out, but I have begun to like Wonder Boy as well and I wanted to hear it! In 2 Hina danced and sang to Forward and everyone did the One Time! part.

1: Watashi Kagami, 2: Mamoritai, 3: Watashi Kagami - Poor Shota’s voice sounded so tired in 1. Overall, all the guys looked and sounded tired in 1 (well they were in Shikoku the day before; poor boys!) and Shota sounded especially tired during this solo. He was a lot better in 3 though!

Eight Ranger 1 - The bike didn’t work for Red, so Orange got off his bike and they ran back to the stage together. I have found out why Blue is always late doing the lap on his bike; Nasu always stops him from moving at the beginning!! Confessions were Yellow and Orange. Yellow’s was something like “Can you sleep in my skinny arms?” or something like that. Orange sang Mr. Children’s “Kimi ga suki” and kissed an imaginary girl (in the air). He sang it really well, too. Black was like “I thought you were singing to me because you said Kimi!”

Orange did a weird move and no one followed suit. Blue’s ippatsugei was weird as well. He had one hand and said “the male shake (= salmon, famous in Hokkaido)” and raised the other hand and said “and the female shake… they make kids, the male dies.” What the hell, lol. When Black tells Blue that he should break up with the girl, he raises his hand each time, Nasu calls on him, and Black says that they should prohibit the Rangers from falling in love. Blue was otokomae when he was saying “No, I don’t want to break up with her.” They all parted ways per usual.

When Orange helps Black up after they both get hit by “the boyfriend,” Black was like “Hey, don’t touch my boobs! I’m three times more sensitive than most people!” When Red says “Look Blue, they’re all worried about you,” he has the nicest smile on and then when he starts singing “Kono Hoshiga Kagayaku Wake,” he suddenly becomes manly and starts singing like an opera singer.

When Nasu starts telling Blue how everyone was worried about him, Yellow was weird and he kinda cut off Nasu and was like “Haha what are you saaayinnnng” (too bad I can’t describe his weirdness!) and when they all walk toward the center stage, Yellow was walking the model walk and was all dramatic when he pointed at the mannequin saying that she’s with the guy again. Yellow was all kinds of weird throughout the weekend. I think the rest was normal Eight Ranger.

Eight Ranger 2 - Confessions were Green and Red. Green said “I want to build a big house in Hokkaido. I want to raise cows. I want to make babies with you, raise our babies, and raise the baby cows, too.” Red copied Green with the whole “raise the cow” deal but the way he said it was weird. He paused every few seconds and in the end he was like “Raise me like a cow!” Nasu said “you’re saying you want to be raised like a farm animal?” and Red said “No, I want her to raise me with love like (the farmers do for) cows.” Nasu said that there is a drama called “Ushi ni negai wo (=When you wish upon a cow)” now and Orange kindly explained to us all “Yeah, it’s play on words with Hoshi ni negai wo (=When you wish upon a star)!!” and we were all like “uhhh, yes we know… but thanks…” haha.

The thing Orange does and everyone else follows was saying “jibaaan!” or something to that extent with a pose that looks like he has shot something with a gun. Blue’s ippatsugei was “jibaaan!” too. When the “boyfriend” punches Orange, he usually says “What the hell, get out of my way,” kinda thing, but in this show the “boyfriend” said “Who are you!?” as he punched Orange so it was pretty funny, haha. The Junior playing the “boyfriend” was big and scary by the way. I prefer the smaller Juniors doing this!

In the end when Black usually says Thank You to everyone, he made Orange go up to the stage and say it. Orange talked to each member, pointing out how each of them helped Blue through his tough time. He said something like, “Black, you were the first one to find out about the girl; Yellow, you noticed something was up with Black; Red, you were there for Blue when he needed you; Purple (we all laughed here because it was rare that someone actually called Nasu ‘Purple’ haha) you looked out for everyone; Green, you were there by our side too (Green says “You mean I didn’t do anything.”)… and me, I was the bridge between Black and Yellow!! See, I have a place in this group! Everyone has a place in our group… (as if to repeat what he had just said all over)” Nasu cuts in “Yeah, you already told us!!!”

Black tells Orange to say all that in Korean. Orange starts speaking fake Korean (which was pretty good) and everyone started laughing. The only thing that was real Korean was “Kamsa Hamnida (=thank you)” but he had to do it a couple times because the music didn’t start for him. He sang the song in “Korean” as well. Right before Yoko sings, Shota asks “How are you going to sing it, Yoko-cho?” and Yoko sang in fake Korean but his sounded like nchu ncho nchu ncho throughout, haha.

Eight Ranger 3 - Finally I was able to see this skit from Shota’s side. In show 1, I was on the Black/Orange/Yellow side, and in show 2, I was near the middle so finally I was able to be on Blue’s side. This side is where Blue confesses to the mannequin, kisses the mannequin and Red and Blue do their little song. The confessions were Nasu and Yellow. Nasu usually puts in a random prefecture specialty in his confession and this time was no different. There’s a famous souvenir cookie called “Shiroi Koibito (=White Lover)” in Hokkaido, and he started off his confession saying “You’re eating that again? Geez, Shiroi Koibito… You know, everybody buys that when they go to Hokkaido so I have a lot of them in my house now… anyway, you should find something else to be interested in. You know, like me? …Can I be your Shiroi Koibito?” Everyone’s like oh geez, haha. Nasu’s confession is funny because usually the “girl” he’s confessing to is eating that prefecture’s special food or they’re at a famous place in that prefecture. So lame, lol. Yellow’s was, “Hey, sit down… yeah I want to talk to you…” Yellow’s confession usually involves his solo acting. He always nods and responds to whatever the “girl” is saying to him, haha. He goes on to say “I don’t want you to die before me. Please raise our kids by hitting them if they misbehave. Oh, and please make miso soup for me every day. Even if we have kids, I want you to take care of yourself the most. Please marry me.” The other Rangers were like “Yellow’s is always real cool!” Black said “Yo Nasu, why are you grinning like an idiot; Yellow didn’t say that to you!” Nasu said “I thought it was a good confession!”

The weird Orange thing this time was saying “deshi deshi” or something as they moved their arms and legs. Blue’s ippatsugei was that, too. When Blue’s confession goes well and everyone promises not to be late etc before they leave, Yellow said “I’m gonna go watch Dobutsu Kisotengai (a TV show).” Yellow was full of adlibs!! The next morning when they all met up, Orange started rolling around the stage saying something but I had no clue what he was trying to do! It was hilarious and random.

When Nasu goes over to talk to Red and Green after everybody left, Red has his eyes closed. He seems to be nodding and responding to what Nasu’s saying, but he was actually sleeping. Nasu yells at him for nodding off and tells him to go to Blue already. Nasu walks over to Green and he looks like he’s deep in his thoughts as well… only that he was sleeping as well, haha. Poor Nasu having to take care of all this all the time!

When Red tells Blue that the others are all worried about him in that nice, calm way, he starts singing the song and Blue runs up to him and they do that weird stretch to the side move when Red sings that “yuku tabiiiiiiiii” part. Then their faces get so close to each other and virtually every inch of their body is touching each other’s except for their faces, which are also very close. They held on to each other’s butt and started slow dancing to the song. They were seriously so close to each other and the crowd (including myself) was like “Kyaaaa! Kiss! Kiss!” they didn’t, unfortunately, but their dance was adorable.

Black made Blue go up to the stage to say Thank You. Blue started off nicely, but he was starting to sound like a school principal, saying how each of them has their own “paths” to “walk toward.” He seriously kept on saying that they should “follow” the “path” so the other Rangers were laughing their hearts out and prohibited Blue from using the words “path” and “follow/walk toward.” Then, Blue said “You each have different ‘colors’…” and the Rangers started laughing hard again. Black said “Blue, we say ‘don’t do it’ but it’s actually suggesting you to ‘do it’ (so that it’s funny).” Blue was all kinds of crazy at this point. Out of the blue, he said “…Suki?” in a question form. All of them burst out laughing. Red said “Is that a question? Are you asking us?” and also “Go to school. Do Kumon.” Nasu goes “You always don’t have a subject to your sentence!!” and was wiping his tears away because he was laughing too much. The funniest thing is that Blue isn’t even trying to be funny; he’s dead serious! Black said “You know Blue, you told the audience earlier that you might kill them… I think they’re going to kill you before you could!” Blue just kept on going even though the others were tsukkomi-ing him like crazy. They all told Blue to start over because his character was suddenly changing, so Blue turned around on the stage and started over, and everyone just laughed at that too because he didn’t have to start all the way from THAT. Blue used the “path” and “follow/walk toward” again but was forgiven because that was his “first” time using those words (since he’s starting over). Blue said “You all like me. I like you all, too. I want to say something to you all. Thank you.” He had this weird hand move that went with the words and he forcefully started off the song, lol. This whole part was just too hilarious!!

Arigato - Like I mentioned in the Eight Ranger part, Maru sang it in “Korean” in 2 and 3 and Shota made Yoko sing it in “Korean” as well. Maru started off the song in 2 at the main stage with the little dance that goes with it, and Shota started off in 3.

Obachan Rock - Hina and Ohkura came out on one side of the stands and Ryo and Subaru on the other. They each start off from each end and move toward the other side, meeting in the middle. Hina and Ohkura always made a big deal out of exchanging the moving carts in the middle, haha. In 3, I was sitting in the stands where Subaru started moving and Ryo ended up coming. Because in 2 Ryo spoke to us (I’ll mention that later), he remembered us in this show as well and pointed to us and did the “I am Ryo!!” thing again. Our seat in 3 was two rows from the back and the only fan service that we were expecting was from Ryo (since we knew he was going to come around in the moving cart) and we got that so I was pretty satisfied! The lights got in the way so I couldn’t really see what Ryo’s mouth was saying but his hand movement was doing the “I am Ryo” like he did in 2.

MC 1 - Hina asked how many of us were actually from Hokkaido. A lot of them were. He asked “Who’s from elsewhere?” so we (the four of us) shouted AMERICA but unfortunately they didn’t hear us. They did hear some girls yelling Fukuoka, but America is further than that damn it! Haha. Hina asked who’s seen K8 for the first time and quite a few raised their hands. I felt like this concert was full of either first-timers or shy people because they weren’t as loud!

They talked about food in Hokkaido. Hina talked about the time he came to Hokkaido for an Oishinsuke location (the most recent one where he guided three ladies around Hokkaido). He said he had the Kyoto concert the day before, took the first plane from Tokyo to Hokkaido, then came back that day. Hectic schedule! He said that the camera was rolling for more than two and a half hours on the car when he thought that it would only go on for like 30 minutes and get an okay sign. Maru and Shota talked about the cheese “Tomu” that won awards (see Yamada Yuu’s Muchaburi). I bought a slice at the airport btw, haha.

Cheese "Tomu" in front of the Drama SP DVD.

Hina then mentioned how Yoko came to Hokkaido just recently. Yoko denied it at first, saying that he doesn’t want to talk about it, haha, but he ended up talking about the time he visited Lake Toya. He and his two brothers (I don’t know why but he talked about this as if Minako-mama wasn’t there when she actually was) went on a family vacation for the first time. Yoko said that he stayed at an extremely expensive hotel. The hotel holds summits and stuff. He said he didn’t want to say the price because it was extremely expensive and everyone would feel uncomfortable about it. The guys kept on telling Yoko that it was alright just tell us, then Yoko said “Fine, then Maru, can you tell something you don’t want to?” Maru said “Sure, I can tell you anything!” Yoko said “Do you have a person you like?” Maru goes “Yes… he’s actually standing right in front of me… it’s you <3” and it was very predictable and not funny (sorry Maru, lol). Anyway, Yoko ended up telling us the price; he said that for two rooms (one for himself and one for the brothers), including the flights but not including meals, he paid 500,000 yen for two nights three days. Everyone was like EHHHHHH!!! Yoko immediately regretted saying that.

Anyway he went on to talk about the trip. He has said this on Recomen before, but he explained how the brothers never show each other’s private parts. The only person who can walk around naked in the house was the mother, lol. Yoko thought that this was a great opportunity to break the tradition, so he naturally took his towel off. The brothers pretended they weren’t surprised or interested, but they clearly were looking at Yoko’s privates. The youngest brother followed suit and showed off his, and Yoko thought to himself, “Wow, it has grown! (since he probably hasn’t seen it in years)” Yoko later caught his two younger brothers arguing. The youngest was mad at the middle one because he didn’t take off his towel. “I showed mine, you show yours too!” “No way!” It was the most childish argument he has ever heard and the others agreed, haha.

Yoko settled them down by telling them to look at the sunset from the roten buro (ouside bath). The sun sets at around 8pm in Hokkaido and the view was very nice. Then the youngest kept on saying “Niichan! Niichan!” so Yoko was like “What is it!?” The brother pointed to a fox and Yoko was amazed at the sight he saw. There’s this way of calling a fox and it’s supposed to be “Ruuu Ruuu Ruuu” but the brother said “Raaa Raaa Raaa” and the guys were like “haha so close!”

They then went to Itsuka, Mata. Maru was missing his bass so he said “My bass is missing!” in a weird Japanese accent. After the song, Yoko said “The trip was actually 20,000 yen in total…” Hina was like “Haha, you were still stuck on that!? You have a glass heart!!” The others kept on telling Yoko that it was okay because it was his first family vacation and it’s cool to spend a lot on it. Yoko also said that he paid over 10,000 yen for plain noodles for three people, since there was nothing else around. That is quite ridiculous! Yoko said that his brothers were so cheap that they brought their chopsticks back home with them, lol.

MC 2 - Shota asked the crowd how far Asahiyama is from Sapporo. They told him it takes about two hours and he thanked those who came all the way from there. Then Shota said how he really really wants to go to the Asahikawa Zoo. He’s never been there before but he knew a lot about it. Ryo was like “I know better than him!” pointing at Shota and said that he’s seen DVDs of the zoo. Shota said that the seals go through a tube but it sounded like he was saying that the seal was shaped like a tube so Ohkura was laughing about it. Shota also talked about how there are some things that kids designed in the zoo. Maru was trying to say “Clione” but he said “Clionair,” mixing things up with “Millionair,” haha.

The "tube" Shota was talking about.

Subaru said that Taeko-mama went to the zoo the day before. She took a picture of a penguin and sent it to him, with just “Penguin” in the body of the message. Hearing this, I did the same thing to my mom the next day when we went to the zoo, lol.

 Penguins.

Anyway. They started talking about how crazy Taeko was. Subaru talked about how she loves Shota and that she has his autograph wrapped up nicely in saran wrap and kept nicely in her bedroom (see my translation for the Recomen episode back in June). Subaru thanked Shota for signing the autograph after Hina said “Yeah, Taeko came in and was like ‘Sho-chan, give me your autograph!’ and had a sign board ready as well!”

Subaru said that when she’s at concerts, he tries to throw her his autograph and she always tries hard to get it but never can. He said that it’s fine to see the fangirls trying to get his autograph, but when he sees Taeko doing the same thing, it’s kinda awkward. Shota said that his mom was similar. She would wave at him during the concert but Shota ignores her; then she complains afterwards saying “Why didn’t you wave back! You didn’t give me sign boards or balls either!!” Hina said Shota’s dad was weird too. Shota said that his dad doesn’t really know Hina much, but when he visited the dressing room, he was like “Oh Hina-chan! What’s up!?” According to Shota, his dad considers everyone as friends when he talks to them at least once.

They talked about how often their families have come to the 47-con so far. Subaru said his mom comes at least once a month (Wakayama, Nara, Hokkaido etc.). He said Taeko came with his younger brother’s friend’s mother to Hokkaido. Shota’s family came for Kobe. Hina said his mom won’t even come to the Osaka ones because she feels awkward seeing her son on stage or something. Ohkura’s family will come for Osaka and Ryo’s parents will come for Kumamoto, where they’re originally from. Ohkura said that to his mom, concerts are life. Maru said that he didn’t get any tickets for his family because he wanted to give the fans more chances to come, but when he went home to pick up his bass, his dad said “Ryuhei! I’m going to your concert (in Kyoto) tomorrow.” Maru asked him how he got tickets, and the dad said that his drinking buddy is in the fanclub and he got tickets. …Are they sure his “drinking buddy” is not a dafuya? Haha. Yoko said that his family has not come to any of the shows yet, but I’m sure he said his mom came to one of the shows in Yokohama. During the MC in the show I went to, he said that he took his mom to a good restaurant in Tokyo after the concert the day before. Unless the mom came just for the dinner, she was at the show! Shota said that he really wants to meet Minako-san. The others agreed and said that they’ve heard so much about her but haven’t really talked to her much. Minako-san brought onigiri and pudding to their first concert in Osaka Jo Hall after Yoko wrote those lyrics, haha. Maru imitated the panty-hose wearing pose that Yoko explained on Domoto Kyodai and called Minako-san a legend.

After Itsuka, Mata, they kept on talking about the tour DVD that would most likely come out some time in December. Hina emphasized the fact that the off-shots from every single prefecture will be in there and that it is as long as the concert (Tokyo Dome show) itself. The neoki dokkiris for all the members will be there as well, and Ohkura almost spoiled the surprise until Yoko stopped him.

MC 3 - They talked about how Hokkaido is warm this time but is still cooler compared to the “concrete jungle” that is Tokyo. Maru said that the cabin attendants announced on the plane (as they did for my flight) that Hokkaido was a bit cooler so be careful of what you wear. They started talking about the winter festival in Sapporo and asked the crowd who carved those ice statues. Someone yelled “the self-defense force!” so Shota was like “Wow, the self-defense force is crafty!” The boys kept on asking questions and the crowd said that they make those sculptures with their own hands and chainsaws.

Previously when they came to Hokkaido, it was during the winter. Apparently, Subaru, Ryo and Shota were playing outside basically naked in the snow and took a picture with their butts sticking out. Then they were curious about what’s the deciding factor when they close schools. The fans said that it’s either when there’s a typhoon or when there’s a blizzard and you can’t see anything in front of you. Shota asked whether they had the snow tires throughout the year or not and the crowd said no, they asked if they could chain up the tires on their own and I guess some people said they could. Hina said that his dad still uses chains like the old-style way.

They talked about cars and Hina said that he’s never been on Ohkura’s car and Ohkura protested by saying that yes he has, he’s been on his car when they drove to Kobe to play soccer. Hina remembered the time when the wind was blowing so hard that Ohkura’s light car was blowing in the wind. He couldn’t go past 70 km/h even on the expressway. Ohkura said he couldn’t pay for the expressway because the car kept on blowing away from the machine, haha. They said that the only member who still didn’t have a license was Maru, and they all suggested that he should get his license (Shota tells him girls like guys who can drive) but Maru said he had no time. Maru said that during his drama “Detective Katherine,” he was supposed to be Katherine’s assistant but Katherine ended up driving the car and he was in the passenger’s seat because he couldn’t drive, haha. Maru was like “Well, my passenger’s seat is still available!” very cooly, but Hina said “That’s because you can’t drive!!”

Hina said that years ago, him and Subaru had a filming in Hokkaido and they were supposed to make a snowman. They were fooling around doing snow ball fights and stuff, but then one of the staff that was very scary yelled at them saying “Make the freakin snowman already!!!” Maru said that his dad was very scary when he was younger, too. He said that on his 7th birthday, they were going to take a picture with the cake. Maru was shy so he couldn’t smile, and Maru’s dad kept on telling him “Ryuhei, smile! Ryuhei… smile… RYUHEI SMILE!!!!” and punched him in the face and drew blood, lol. Maru also said that his dad gets pissed off at taxi drivers whenever they honk at him or whatever. He would stop the car, walk over to the driver and will be like “Yo, open up; what the f*ck was that all about!?” Ohkura commented “and he’s macho too, right? That’s scary!”

…Surprisingly, Yoko did not let out a single word during this MC except for the Minako part. He looked very tired this day. He was alright on Day One but looked very tired here. After Itsuka, Mata, Ohkura was promoting his drama or something, but stopped after a few seconds because Subaru apparently was telling him to say something funny. Ohkura complained that he can’t say something funny when he’s promoting something. Hina asked Subaru if he was saying that, Subaru said “No.” Hina asked Ohkura and Ohkura said “Yes he did!” Subaru says “No.” Hina asked Ohkura again and Ohkura was like “…No, he didn’t say it.”

They asked the crowd when they should come to Hokkaido next and most people said spring, so Hina said “Hopefully next winter or spring, we could visit here again!”

Itsuka, Mata - During 1 and 2, the staff was late to bring Maru’s bass so he had the fake accent saying “Where’s my bass!?” Because they sit during this song facing the front, Hina usually apologizes to the people sitting in the back for showing their backs. Maru was like “Guys talk with their backs, though, hehehe.”

I didn’t like how the fans were clapping to this song. In show 1, Ryo had his finger to his lips telling everyone to quietly listen to the song, but no one noticed. All three shows ended up with the clap… oh well. They usually don’t want clapping during quiet songs like this.

1. Magic Word, 2. Ruwa, 3. Magic Word - For each Maru solo, Shota and Hina remained on stage while Maru got ready and wondered at loud where Maru could possibly be. He appeared in his cape and tight star print pants again. The “paaaaan!” for the first show was very quiet; I guess the fans didn’t know when to do the paaaaan! Ruwa was powerful as usual.

Junior’s dance - One kid did a cartwheel, a few handsprings and then a back flip. I like the music to this dance, which leads to the K8 dance.

K8 dance - Ohkura and Hina go first. They do a few moves and in the end fight for the camera. Yoko and Maru are next, and in show 2 they were both late to come out. In 2, Maru had his hair tied up in the back. Shota, Ryo and Subaru appear last in the center and they do some fancy moves and high-fives each other etc. They all gather in the main stage and do a group dance. I really like the music; I wonder what it is.

Kanashii Koi - Nothing too special in any of the three shows.

Osaka Rainy Blues - Shota and Ryo are always doing this “I can spin quicker and better than you” dance-off in the darkness when Subaru sings his first solo. The costume they wear here makes them look like they’re spinning around in a skirt. Ryo, Shota and Maru go one way and the rest go the other way.

Futari no Namida Ame - The mirror ball that comes down during the chorus was very pretty here as well. The fans were like “woooow!” when most of the lights went down except for the white light coming out of the ball.

Osaka Romanesque - In show 2, Ryo sang “Kita no machi (= city in the north)” instead of “Nishi no machi (= city in the west)” and then “Hokkaido” instead of “Midosuji.” Ryo was really in a good mood overall.

Heavenly Psycho - The “Let’s sing with Ryo-chan” segment has become this song only these days. It’s nice though.

Band session - I think Ohkura’s drums have improved significantly. Maru’s using his thumb playing the bass and sounding cool. I think when Shota comes out with his shiny pink/green/yellow hood, yellow balloon skirt and pink leggings the crowd gets real loud. They have an awesome jamming session before going into their final set of songs.

Do you agree? - This song never fails to make the noise level go up a few notches.

Gojo ni Go! - This adds to the “Let’s get crazy!” atmosphere created by Do you agree? Subaru is usually head-banging like crazy during this song. I think this is when in show 2, Ryo came over to us and saw our uchiwas (one said “American Eighter” and another said “I’ll teach you English” in Japanese). He stopped in front of us and started introducing himself, saying “I’m Ryo” a few times in English with his hand to his chest. He kept on saying things in English but we couldn’t hear much because he wasn’t speaking through the mic. I thought he said “Do you want to sleep with me?” but who knows, haha. He was talking to us for a while!

Sayonara wa Itsumo - The way Ryo sings the end part is cool. I always like the confetti that goes out during this song. It’s so pretty.

EN Mugendai & Zukkoke Otokomichi - In show 2, Ryo came back to our place again. He had his sign ball with him, so we asked him to give it to us. He held on to it for a while and I think he asked us “Do you like me best?” My friend thought he said “Do you want to come to my place?” Hahaha! He ended up not giving us the ball though damn it, haha. Ryo was hyper throughout the weekend like I said a bunch of times. He threw water at the fans in all three shows, and he went into the crowd as if asking to be touched.

There was a middle-aged woman who had a Hina uchiwa sitting next to us, and Hina came over to her and handed her his sign board. The lady showed us what she got and my friend and I had to laugh because Hina spelled “Hokkido” instead of “Hokkaido.” Close Hina, very close. He wrote “Thanks! See ya!” in English on the back. When Ryo was leaving, he kept on saying “Thanks! See ya!” in English in show 3. I really think he’s a strong American-wannabe!

Double and Triple Encores - For shows 1 and 2, they only came out for a quick thank you and good bye for the double encore. In 3, they sang Kanfuu Fighting. I don’t know who was wearing what in which show, but what I remember is: Yoko was wearing bicycle shorts (a little above the knee) and was hiding his crotch in show 1, wore his PJs and showed his butt in the end in show 2, and didn’t show up for the triple encore in show 3.

I don’t remember what Subaru was wearing for show 1 but in shows 2 and 3, he came out in his long tie-dye shirt and was wearing Blue Ranger’s helmet. In show 2, Shota kept on pointing at him and gesturing that “Hey! That’s mine!” As Subaru was leaving, he said through the mic “Which Ranger am I?” In show 3, Subaru just walked around the arena really slowly with the shirt, the helmet and flip flops. He stopped for a few seconds in front of our section and stared into the camera. He really looked like a walking zombie. He didn’t come out for the third encore in show 3, either.

Hina was basically topless, but he wore a #19 Messi jersey in show 3. There was someone throwing the jersey to him in front of me and he kept on asking for it and thanked her for it (through the mic) as he was leaving. He came out for the triple encore wearing that jersey again. I wish Hina would stop doing that (he accepts dolls and stuff too) because that would mislead the fans into thinking that they could throw whatever they want on the stage.

Maru I think was normal in the first two shows but was wearing his solo con shirt in the second encore of show 3 and the white coat they wear in the opening for the triple encore. There were foam weights on the stage so he held them up and sang his solo song acapella.

Shota was wearing his tour t-shirt and the yellow skirt/pink leggings, but came out in his really short underwear in the trip encore!! It was like the speedos he wore in Dive to the Future. His legs were so pale. He pulled his shirt down and squatted down on the stage to hide his legs. He went down the stairs to hide his bottom but had his head popped up to say bye to the fans.

Ryo came out in his black bathrobe in show 2 and showed off his legs, and came out in his street clothes in the other shows I think. He had a yellow tank top, jeans (maybe?) and a hat on in show 3 as he sang Shota’s solo song. The others that were on the stage (the five except for Subaru and Yoko) kept on singing “Hayo Aitai!” saying that they want to come back to Hokkaido soon. Ryo also sang a little bit of Mamoritai as he left the stage. Ryo was dancing to Maru’s acapella solo, too. Like I’ve said a million times, Mr. Nishikido seemed to be on some kind of crack this weekend, haha. He did “Lastly, I want to say… I want this mwah (blows a kiss) to be sent to everyone!” in both shows on Sunday. I like seeing Ryo in a good mood at concerts. It makes everything better.

Ohkura came out in a white bathrobe. He was wearing Maru’s solo con shirt in the third encore of show 3. He was playing around with the confetti and was acting weird himself.

Overall - The boys were extremely hyper in shows 2 and 3, haha. They looked exhausted in show 1 though! I wonder what got to them overnight.

It is hard to believe that the 47-con is almost over, but it is! Unbelievable. I admire the boys’ stamina and how they could keep themselves motivated. They were in Shikoku for two days, had three straight concerts in Hokkaido (northern most prefecture), then flew all the way down to Kyushuu for three straight days of concerts again. The boys do not have time to rest!! I just hope they don’t collapse especially in this crazy heat. Hokkaido was extremely hot when we went; the weather reports said that Sapporo was hotter than Okinawa!! How the hell is that possible??

Anyway, it was a great vacation to Hokkaido and to be able to attend all three shows made it even better. Yay for a nice, short summer break!

Miraculously, the colors of the trains were the colors of each of the four girls' favorite Ranger!

By the way... if you remember this translation of a radio show between Shota and Ohkura, you might find this picture pretty interesting:

This is the "kapibara" at the Asahiyama Zoo and it was the laziest thing I have ever seen!!! Hahaha.
