Picspammy Challenge #8 (1)

Mar 22, 2009 02:42

I've had tons of ideas for the March challenge at picspammy. Even started working on some of them... and ended up abandoning all.

But since I've been incredibly nostalgic about QaF lately, I decided it was about time for me to picspam Brian/Justin.

I've shipped a lot of couples, I have new ones I adore, but nothing will ever come close to this pairing. So here it is. 25 reasons why these 2 remain my ultimate OTP.

Warnings: some nudity, m/m relationship (if this bothers you, well... gtfo my LJ?), basically not for kids.

Credit for the S5 caps goes to Kate's MTB gallery. Thanks hon!

As always it's pretty much chronological and reasons are based on quotes from the show. Also, admittedly I forgot how horrible this show was to color, so very early on I gave up and thus it's all b&w.

Because it wasn't love at first sight.
But it sure was an instant attraction.

There are hot first kisses on TV. And there was their first kiss.
It set the bar high for the show and even higher for what have been seen on TV.
I've yet to see a first kiss as hot as theirs.

It's one of those scenes where you realize you witness something important.
Important for the development of the characters and important for you.
Brian might have been annoyed with Justin living with him,
but he'd rather have him around than leave him in a home where he couldn't have been himself.

Because their sex scenes were HOT.
As someone once commented on my LJ "wow, these 2 sure fuck a lot!"

Because they're hot AND they're sweet.
They had ice cream kisses. You can't get sweeter than that!

Because at some point, Brian Kinney actually started to care.
And this was huge for a character like him!

Because they can bring out the best in each other.
Brian wouldn't let Justin give up, replace his dreams by dreams of other people.

There was always an interesting dichotomy in Brian's words to Justin and his gestures.
He doesn't want to remember him, he doesn't want him in his life,
and yet every time he pulls him closer, he lets him in a tiny bit more.

Because I firmly believe your heart is made of stone if these scenes didn't touch you.
From the ultimate happiness of the "best night of [Justin's] life" to the utter horror of the bashing.
Also, Gale never looked more beautiful than he did in that final scene.

Because they continuously break your heart.
And you cry for their loss of that one moment of true happiness.

Because grand pianos crash together when my boy walks down the street
There are whole new kinds of weather when he walks with his new beat
Everyone sings hallelujah when my boy walks down the street
Life just kind of dances through ya from your smile down to your feet
Amazing he's a whole new form of life
Blue eyes blazing and he's going to be my wife

Plus it's my friend's favorite scene ♥

Because this is MY favorite scene!
The Pride dance that would give them a new, good memory to help with the trauma.

Oh the end of S2 angst! It's so painful to watch them destroy their relationship.
And in all that mess, they have this scene and it's so intense.
No other kiss has had so many emotions poured in.
All the passion, hurt, desperation, disappointment and confusion.
All these feelings impossible for Brian to verbalize.
All these feelings impossible for Justin to believe in.

Because there's something Casablanca-ish in the way Brian lets Justin go.
He loves him enough to push him away. Just because he thinks he deserves something better.
And when he pines after Justin, it's pathetic, sad and so lonely.

Because Justin learned his lesson.
And he has balls!

Because when they get back together,
it's the greatest reunification since Germany!
They both know what they want. They both know what to expect of each other.

Because they don't care for society's rules
and they don't need to label what they have.
Because their relationship is theirs and theirs only.
And they don't have to justify or explain it to anyone.

Because their relationship is the one and only constant
when they're faced with major life changes.

Because Justin doesn't need to know what is bothering Brian,
but he needs him to know that whatever it is, he will be there for him.

Because words are no longer important. It's the actions that count.

Because Justin can be strong for both of them.
Even if it breaks his (and ours) heart.

Because Brian can't get rid off him. They have a commitment!
And Justin doesn't care how imperfect Brian has become in his own eyes.
He's Justin's perfect man anyway.

Because they actually finish each other's sentences!
And yet, Brian still has issues with the word "couple"...

Because we have waited 5 years to hear Brian say "I love you".
And when he does, you're just as amazed as Justin.
It's seriously one of the most touching love declarations I've seen.
I don't care if that makes me a big sap ;)

And final reason... their story is not a fairytale.
It's bittersweet and leaves you aching for more,
imagining the what ifs and counting every possible scenarios
to give them their destined happy ending.

Some fan vids recommendations to complete the spam:

Nicky's absolutely amazing Come Undone, focusing on S1 and the bashing,
as well as her This Is How It Goes -- the anatomy of S2 break up.

Alex's When the Sun Goes Down which is a far lighter look at their couple.

Wendy's classic Love Will Come Through.

I hope you enjoyed it =)
