Article on CNN about homeless children, seriousness undercut by the fact they are using names like "Lokki" and "Magick" and belong to a "Juggalos gang."  Aggressive eye-rolling reduces impact.

The Last Airbender has the worst movie reviews I have seen in a very long time.  Not just critical of the film, but downright scathing.  Ebert gave it a half star (the same granted to Battlefield Earth), AV Club gave it an F, and at the time I'm writing this, RottenTomatoes has it with a 6% approval rating.  For comparison, the new Twilight movie ( Read more... )

It bothers me that Wong Kar Wai is often listed as Kar Wai Wong in various sources.  Although I suppose neither is technically "wrong" depending on how one's language handles surnames, but the lack of consistency bugs me.

Been pretty busy lately.  My ASL class is finished now, at least.  I'll miss the practice and exposure for sure, but I definitely won't miss the schedule.  I'm not sure how I did grade-wise; I completely neglected the lab assignments and hour requirement because the language lab's hours are pretty much impossible to make if you work and are taking ( Read more... )
