Oh man, this are just INCREDIBLE. Like ... wow. I knew you were going to do some interesting things with this, based on the premise and how amazing you are, but these are just so awesome. I especially love the first -- even though I usually have zero interest in anything MIB-related -- and how haunted and heart-wrenching it is (that last line, with Juliet marking her own name off?), and the fourth, because I love that Juliet is the voice of reason, and talks Daniel and the rest of them down from the incredibly stupid Darlton plot point that comes next.

Amazing stuff!

Aww, thank you so much!

I'm not even sure where the Juliet as Richard thing came from, but I had to do it once the idea popped in my head. It's weird but I'm really fascinated by the MIB, but I can't stand Jacob. I love that I came away with the exact opposite of the perspective on those two that I'm sure Darlton wanted us to have.

I was worried the part with Dan was going to come out a bit too self-serving on my part, but I can't help but think there were better/more interesting scenarios to be played out than the one we got. :)

Oh, man, this is AMAZING. You capture Juliet so, so well. The first one is just fantastic. I really feel Juliet's pain and the characterizations of Jacob and Esau ring true and that last line, where she crosses her name off, is chilling.
And the second one! Sawyer sacrificed himself for her! :( But it makes sense to me. Her being able to get away on the plane, in Sawyer's place, is very interesting. Her trying to ignore the empty seat beside her is so heartbreaking.
The third one is so frickin' awesome to me. Her taking Ben's place! "Emily Gale". Ahhhh. How different would the show have been like, in a way, if that actually happened? I love it.
The fourth one is so sweet. I'm a Jater at heart but I've always had a soft spot for Jack/Juliet and you've got them here. So Jack & Juliet stayed behind in Dharmaville in the 70's, while Sawyer & Kate were part of the Oceanic 6. That's such an interesting premise. Juliet being pregnant and Jack being protective and loving is so wonderful. And David! Jack knowing it'll be a boy! I love how ( ... )

Me too. I'm usually pretty hardcore about Sawyer/Juliet, but Juliet/Jack was pretty much my first real Lost ship and sometimes I get nostalgic. They always seemed to get each other and they were a lot of fun to watch in season three.

This was so brilliant. The way you took what we know, and made it so believably, perfectly AU, was just incredible. You are an amazing writer.

i. You're like a mind reader, because I swear, I had a vaguely similar plotbunny when I was trying to think of a role reversal for Richard, and Juliet was the only one I wanted to switch him with, so that she'd be the ageless Immortal to Jacob of many, many years while he'd be in her situation, no immortality issues and wanting desperately get off the Island after being recruited. And you just really sparked the idea further ( ... )

Wow, thank you so much! :D

I was having this internal debate with myself over whether or not the first one should be a contemporary Juliet or one from a Richard-esque era and I honestly couldn't commit, so I left it vague.

I love the idea of a complete role reversal with Richard and Juliet though. That would be awesome. Richard/Juliet is one of my favorite rare ships.

I think despite all the tragedy in either situation, canon gives us the more bleak picture, while this scenario seems more bearable.

Absolutely. I know it sounds terrible, but I would have been okay with losing Sawyer, especially if we lost him because he was saving her. But losing Juliet was too much. I needed for her to go home, I can't say the same for James.
