Happy New Year!

And it's Election Day (Federal). If the pre-election polls are right, we should be getting a change in government. It's about time.

I was looking at the lunar eclipse a little while ago. What's interesting is that, to the naked eye, the moon looks red, but with the binoculars it just looks all shadowy. Hmm.

I was browsing the program for the Melbourne Writers Festival and a couple of workshops caught my eye. One with Cory Doctorow and another on crafting a novel. It's ridiculous that supermarkets are already selling easter eggs and hot cross buns, but I have to confess I couldn't resist the chocolate chip hot cross buns. They're too yummy!

Channel 9 is finally screening Season 4 of Enterprise. I'm planning to watch it since it's Trek, and also I'm a bit starved of sci-fi with no Stargate, Battlestar Galactica or Doctor Who on the horizon. Anyhow, I've already seen the series final and I figure the rest of the Season 4 eps can't be any worse than that was. :p

Daylight saving just ended (a week late because of the Commonwealth Games) and all of a sudden it feels like the middle of winter.

Hmmm, mangoes.
