The trouble with prags, Vern thought, was just when you’d finish breaking one in, the system would come around to fuck things up. Either the prag would get paroled or transferred or some sonuvabitch with a beef would stick a shank in him or the prag would get mouthy and have to be put down. Turnover was the nature of prison life.
But why did it always seem to happen to his prags?
It’s not that Vern wasn’t kind. He offered companionship, guidance and the always-helpful protection to whomever was sucking his cock on a regular basis. Which, if the prag actually thought about it, was pretty fucking generous.
