aletter2elise - love the artwork! The way you've woven all the images together tells a million different possible stories and your detailing is really great. I particularly dig how you visually draw out the contrast between both men and meld it with them coming together (despite those differences).

cmk418 - love the idea of Toby going undercover into prison! It's a great twist on a story we know and raises many curious possibilities. The idea of him and Elliot knowing each other beforehand, being together already, before Toby goes in is really cool.

ozsaur - okay, I need to read the longer story asap! This is a total tease and I'm already jonesing for a fix. Not only do I like the set up here, I love the detailed breakdown of Toby's observations while killing time, curious and bored out of his mind at the same time. The way you describe everything -- from the precinct to the people to Toby's thought process -- really brings the story to life ( ... )

Thank you for your lovely comment! The longer story is in progress. Some real life issues have been dogging me, but I really want to get the longer story out there.

I'm so glad the story worked for you. The next part takes place a few months later.

aletter2elise - Such a good job my schoonkie wookums! I really love the composition of this piece, how they seem to inevitably meet in the middle. I always have loved the way you draw eyes - slightly anime, half realism, then a touch of something else that's just you. *applause*

cmk418 - Again, a story in so few words. a story that I would really like to see all of. ;-) Your drabble so well crafted - do you use a process of distillation, continuously editing and paring down content, or can you just do this with such snapshot-like precision?

ozsaur - Ack, yes! What the other half of my brain up there said. I'm really enthusiastic about reading the rest of this. It wouldn't happen to be a small piece of Big Bang, would it? really loved your rhythm; this flowed really well, and you have a lovely, rich quality to your descriptions. Moar plz!

Thank you! What a lovely comment.

The longer story will indeed be looong, though not necessarily Big Bang length. It's well over 5K at this point and will probably top at about 15K. Real life issues are making it a slow process, but I'm getting there.

Thank you again!

Thank you. As for the process, I guess the answer, particularly for this project, is a vague "it depends". Some of these I could get out in five minutes, some of them were like pulling teeth (and I have never written so much B/K at one time). I used to be much stricter about editing - 100 words, no more, no less - but now I just let the story end where it wants to end. And since I come at this from a screenwriting instead of a storywriting background, I tend to write pretty economically anyway. And that's probably more than you wanted to know.

Thank you so much for the wonderful compliment!

Aletter2lise - Your art tells a story so rich in possibilities. Also, I like the clean,
a little anime, style.

Cmk418 - Once more, you write a drabble and leave us wanting for more. This plot, I' m sure, had never been written and I would love to see it develop.

Ozsaur - I hope RL gives you a litle rest. I' ll be here, waiting for the longer story.
I don't know who this Toby is but I love him already, picking little items from the desk for future use and admiring the fine-assed lawyer.

Thank you! I'm glad you like Toby, he's very different from canon. His life took a very definite turn...

And there will be more. :)

Well, I figure that Elliot will have to go undercover eventually (maybe as Chris Keller?) I'm really glad that you liked what I have here. Thanks so much for reading and commenting!

aletter2elise - I love the artwork - you really gave us a lot to work with here and there were so many ways that the story could go (as shown by the differences between the two pieces of writing it inspired). It was really fun to write for this.

ozsaur - Incredible work. I really like the way that you set the scene and flipped our impressions of how Toby and Chris/Elliot should be. And I loved Toby pilfering items from the desk he was sitting at (and checking out the lawyer's ass). This was a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to reading the rest when you post it.
