Oooh, that was very pretty and sweet and sad. Also makes Sam's weirdness on the phone with Dean more real, too... sort of felt like a cop-out because they never did explain why he was being so strange when he wasn't siren-whammied, but if he had all THIS going on it could probably explain the strange, tense and maudlin.

I think they used Sam's weirdness as a red herring, without really giving us enough of a glimpse of what was going through his head and letting us really see why he was being so strange. So I'm glad this little bit of an explanation made sense to you.
