and in your dreams an old piece of sadness lifts away, sga, john/rodney, skindogearedApril 10 2007, 18:30:29 UTC
John's not quite sleeping, but as good as, pressed warm and heavy all along Rodney's side. Rodney's trying to type quietly with his right hand, laptop balanced on his thighs, but his left hand's trapped between them, and John's thumb is moving in hypnotic little half-circles on his wrist, sweeping up over the bone, smoothing around just under the heel of Rodney's hand, again and again and again until Rodney's shivering with it, the hair on the back of his neck standing up (and he's not quite hard, but as good as). And then John's asleep, drifting-dreaming, maybe-thumb-to-wrist a moorline. Rodney slides the laptop to the floor, fits his body to curve around John's, hems him in, keeps watch.

thumb-to-wrist a moorline.
I love it all, but that phrase in particular is so beautiful it almost hurts.
