I loved that opening image of Lex looking so peaceful holding Lana. We don't often get to see him looking so relaxed.

I must agree with you that the show has been waining on me lately as well - but Vessel showed me once again that when they want to do it right they really can do it right. Part of me resents them for that fact - how they take advantage and screw with our minds like 80% of the time and then WHAMMO - we get hit with the good stuff.

I actually talked to my biggest Supesgeek friend after the episode last night and although we both enjoyed it alot we thought it would be absolutely HILARIOUS if it did get cancelled now. We know it won't be, but it would be funny for the misery to stop this way with ZodLex in control of the earth and Clark spinning his jets in the phantom zone. It would almost be befitting of the series I think.

Yes, I know what you mean. It's not that they can't do it, it just that most of the time they don't, and it's frustrating when we see how good it can be when they get it right.
