Food for Thought

So, I've been lately thinking about our favorite boys in 1965-1974 (pre-Roche case)...  this was the nostalgic point in the graphic novel, when Dan was fit/handsome and Rorschach was sane/articulate. And a lot of interesting questions came to mind ...I'm curious as to what you guys think.

1. When Nite Owl and Rorschach team up-- why would they team up in the first place? Who would have proposed that they work together first? Would Nite Owl be the one to introduce himself to Rorschach, say he liked his moves, and buy him a drink talk to him about teaming up?

2. Dan and Walter have different levels of education (although, intellectually they are almost equal, I think). Walter dropped out of school at age sixteen, despite being a bright student. Dan went to Harvard. Do you think Walter would be slightly envious of Dan having "an easy life" with a good education?

3. Dan is mentioned to have "daddy issues" (his father strongly disapproved of him, leading to Dan's insecurity issues)...while Walter, as we all know, has big issues with his mother/women in general. Do you think that they both have an unspoken understanding/bond of "My parents were shitty too", which is why they can both tolerate each other?

4. Rorschach's grappling gun... originally a gift from Nite Owl. What would be the reason for giving it to him? Anniversary present *winkwink*? Or just for practical use, since Rorschach was bound to eventually get hurt from jumping all over the city? What do you think Rorschach's reaction would be to Daniel giving him such a gift?
