Before herself_nyc started delivering chapters of Distance every day I started on a little fic of my own. I can barely keep up with the pace of reading one great chapter a day, much less writing one, so I put it off while a rode Distance. So Warren Meers is the only male person we see on Buffy with a hairy chest. Xander, Angel, Riley, and Spike are waxed smooth.

The implied message? Hairy chest equals evil misogynist monster. Smooth waxed chest equals suave good (or redeemable) handsome hero.

But body waxing is painful and tedious.

I'm reading a lot of comments from lj'ers who are distressed that the new Buffy S8 Joss fanfic comics aren't resolving their favorite on-screen romances.

But the romances they mention were already dealt with conclusively on screen. There really isn't any call for more telling of those stories now that they're over.
