I recently read an article about 3,000 red winged black birds falling dead from the sky in Arizona and then  500 dead birds in Lousiana as well as Kentucky. Then I read about 100,000 dead fish are dead in the Arkansas River.. there is a massive flooding happening out in Australia right now, in Queensland which has shut down 75% of it's coal mines, ( Read more... )

For the past few days, everytime I drink or eat anything, I have an aftertaste of salt. At one point the  other day, as I was drinking loads of water, I made Michael taste it to make sure it wasn't the water that was making things taste salty. Recently Michael and I went to Burger King to pick up a quick, cheap lunch.. I was amazed to see the differences between a US Burger King and a Swedish Burger King.. ok the food is the same, except they have different burgers, like their Pinata Burger that has jalapenoes and tortilla chips on the burger.. they do not have self serve soft drinks.. Finally! I start school on Janurary 10th, 2011 and go to school for the next 5 months until June.. and this is just the intro course! Yay! There finally is a light at the end of the tunnel!!

No.. it's not some weird craving I am having. Over here in Sweden, I thought it was funny that they call relish, Boston Pickles (Gurka) and they have this hamburger topping that is called American Hamburger dressing, which I swear is the secret sauce in a McD's BigMac! Whew..that's a mouthful! Now for the pronounciation of the word.. Smörgåstrårta  sounds like this.. smeah gosse torta ..you just smoosh it all together to get one word. Now what is it? A wonderful dinner that literally translates to sandwhich cake. Not cake as in frosting.. but cake as in one big GIANT sandwhich that can easily feed 6 -8 people. ( Read more... )

Swedes are so funny. If you hurt yourself by accident .. like when I visited here last summer and was getting off of the bus, after travelling for 18 hours, I tripped down the stairs of the bus and broke my fall but landed on my butt.
