What I love is that you and Tenax actually started and successfully ran a furry convention! That says a lot about you and despite the brief glory days you had, I'm sure the locals and others who attended those great cons appreciated your hard work and openness.
It also says a lot that you can let others' failures, bitterness, and anger go.
Yeah, it's not worth holding onto negative feelings. I just wish I could bury the hatchet with everyone that was negatively affected by the existence of the convention. But, communication is a two way street. If they don't want to talk things out, there really isn't much to be done.
Thanks for writing about your experiences. The bureaucracy of running something like a con is one reason why I have avoided it. I'll stick to my furmeets which can attract up to 80 people. There is the potential for drama, but so far that hasn't been an issue. Hope to see you more on LJ!
Honestly, what was most aggravating was feeling like the guy who did the majority of the work in a group project, and then have one of the people walk around talking about how great he was running everything.
I think a con can work, but you have to be able to trust that those you're starting it with will pull their weight. Or maybe it's best to not try to start a business venture with friends?

I don't think I'll ever start up another convention again, but a day event here and there could still be fun! :)
