[For those Johan knows in Goldenrod, they might have seen him out and about today!! And, naturally, the duelist is extremely torn up about losing his Pokemon to the horrors of video games. ... Except, he isn't. They're still there, strange form or no, and that's a lot more than he can say about his family. So he's just been walking around in a sort ( Read more... )

[Kaito is actually really bothered by his Pokemon's lack of character. He hadn't realized how used to their antics he had gotten until they weren't there to annoy him anymore. Not that he'd ever... say this out loud, of course.

So here he is, fiddling furiously with his gear as he walks along the pixelated roads of Goldenrod, so intensely focused on perusing the network to make sure everyone is okay that he doesn't see Johan at all.

Collision potentially imminent]

[OUCH. There's a... well, no, there isn't a clatter as Kaito's gear tumbles to the ground. Instead, there's a series of error noises as it... bumps into the pixels]

O-oi, sorr-- [pause] Johan?

Huh. You know, I was kind of thinking the same thing for a while. But I bet Jim would like them even better if they weren't, well... glitches in a program.

I took one on earlier, but it ran away before I could beat it. After that, I've just been kind of ignoring them, since they seem more like they want to annoy me than battle me.

By the way, if you're interested... we made it to Goldenrod quicker than I thought.

You think so? These could be some kind of "digital machine fossil", though!

Maybe they're just as upset as the rest of us are.

-- Eh? [perking up right away at that] What do you mean?

But I bet he likes the real things better, don't you?

I've never seen them around before now, but I guess that's possible. There's a lot of things that could've happened, but I have a hard time believing it was all just a coincidence.

Exactly what it sounds like. [He smirks.]

I guess so. Think there are any of those around?

Well, we do know the weather was here first. I don't think it's a coincidence either, but...

... [starting to grin] No way!

... I almost feel like I've been handling this all along, really.

Is that a bad thing? Ehehehe.

Not really. It just isn't the typical reaction.

How do you figure? When everything goes back to normal, they could be like our Pokemon.
