Andromeda hasn't been in the Inn in a while. It's pure coincidence that she happens to be here tonight. It's also coincidence that she manages to glance at the door just in time to see Sirius transforming and watch, in horror, as the scene plays out.

As soon as he steps back in, she's running to his side. "Are you okay? Is she okay? Merlin, Sirius--" And she cuts off and would wrap her arms around him, but she'll wait until he's set Lily down.

Sirius stops, mid-stride, when he sees his favorite cousin.

Of all the people he would never want to have see him do that...Andy's pretty much the very top of the list, right alongside Remus and James.

".....Andy....er....yes, I'll be all right....and Lily too, I think....he used a Stunner, I think he wanted to...to come back to her and finish the job when he could take his time....she's a Muggleborn, you know..."

He puts Lily down on a couch, gently, and sits next to her, looking ashamed.

Andy just nods through his explination. She reaches out to check Lily's pulse when he sets her down, but as soon as she's found that it's steady, she wraps her arms around Sirius and holds him, tightly.

Sirius clings to her, hiding his face in her shoulder.

"I didn't mean to kill him, Andy....not really....but I was Padfoot, and he was struggling, and the dog-mind said he was prey, and..."

"WHAT THE BLOODY FUCKING HELL?!"

James had walked into the Inn tonight, expecting conversation, mischief, and laughter.

Seeing his best friend carry in the one girl he'd ever thought about in a loving sense was not in the plans. Especially since said best friend is covered in blood, and said girl looks half dead.

Sirius looks up at James, lips and teeth stained with blood, and puts Lily down carefully on a couch.

"Jamie....Death Eaters..." He fetches his wand, thinks up a basin, and cleans his mouth out thoroughly. "Padfoot tore one's throat out."

"Fuck." Torn between comforting his best friend and checking on Lily's welfare, he moves over, slinging an arm briefly around his shoulders. With his free arm, he waves his wand over Lily's prone form, performing a simple diagnostic charm that Madam Pomfrey had occasion to use on him.

"Was she the sole target, or did the bastard go after her family?"

"Her family's safe, in any case. Her sister got married the other day, isn't living at home anymore, and her parents are away for some alone time, now that she's old enough to take care of herself...we were having lunch at a park near her house...."

Sara is sitting on a couch, trying to distract herself with a newspaper.

"I think James and Lily are finally gonna start something up," Sirius says, joining her. "It's about time, too, he's been chasing her longer than he's been Chasing a Quaffle."

"Good for them." She studies his face intently. "It's all right to freak out over what happened."

"Good, 'cause I am, trust me."

Sirius leans against her shoulder. "But I'd do it again. For Lily...for anyone."

Pepper has mostly been lost in her own mind, however, the melee at the door can't help but draw her attention. Oh, no. Oh -no-. "Lily! Sirius!" She jumps up and runs over. "Crap. What can I do?"

[ooc: Tag for later. I don't know what's up with me today.]

"She should wake up on her own, presently," Sirius says, laying her down. "Could you sit with her while I go....er...clean up?"

Because he doesn't like the taste of blood, and anyway it's probably kinda scary to see.

"Of course." Pepper sits on the floor, laptop and PDA forgotten. "Is there anything you need? I could probably find Jarvis, he has medical exam programs." She pauses. "At least he does back in LA."

"I doubt if it would fix spell damage. Interference, remember?" Sirius smiles at her, careful to keep his lips closed around his teeth. "Thank you anyway...I'll be right back."

He takes himself off, probably thinking up a handful of Toothflossing Stringmints as he goes.

Ugh. Death Eater blood. Gross.
