Buffy can also sense the weirdness.

It's a Slayer thing.

She's sitting in a corner, arms folded over her chest, frowning at everything else. She doesn't want to deal with this. Not here. Isn't this the place she's supposed to get a break from being the Slayer?

Angel should really keep his distance.

"Buffy." His voice is soft, only loud enough for her to hear.

He's such a masochist.

She glances up sharply at the sound of his voice before a slow, cautious smile flickers over her lips.

"Angel. Hey. Haven't seen you in ages. Being away for the summer and all."

Well. That wasn't at all awkward or pathetic.

There's a hint of a smile across his lips.

"I know." Not that he'd meant to imply that he was keeping tabs on her or... anything.

Even though, he is.

"But you're back."

Kitty's been up in her room lately for far, far too long. So when she descends the stairs and sees a familiar, friendly face? She actually breathes a sigh of relief.

Watch out, Harry. You have a bouncy mutant sneaking up behind you and covering up your eyes!

"Guess who?" A laugh and a grin.

"Kitty?" Harry smiles, despite himself and pulls away from her hands, turning to smile at her.

"How are you?" The last time he'd seen her... it hurts to think of her in so much pain and fear.

Kitty returns the smile, even though it isn't reflected into her eyes completely.

A meeting with the Master can do that to a person.

"I'm good. How about you, Harry?" She'll walk through him and the table so that she might take a seat across from him. She'll eye his tea for a moment before thinking up a cup of her own.

Harry blinks when she walks through him and laughs, because he still hasn't quite gotten used to that.

"Not bad. While I'm here anyway." He smiles. "Kind of have a dictator ruling the school right now."

Harry rolls his eyes with a heavy sigh.

There is an Eight walking around the Inn and wondering when is it that everyone became so musically-inclined. He knows there's something strange in the air, can feel it in the corners of his mind, a strange rhythmic tingle, but he's been very good at pushing it aside.

Edna is the one who manages to catch his attention because although he's seen quite a bit in the In, he had yet to see anyone do any proper laundry.

"Why not just think the wrinkles away," he questions as he approaches her, his head tilted just slightly as he examines the piece of clothing she was currently working on.

"Well, it's kind of like cheatin', ain't it? It's my job. Might as well do it myself." Edna says with a firm nod as she folds a particular item of clothing up into its proper place and sets it in a basket.

She ducks her head, blushing a little. "Sides I think this place'll get the best of me if I don't distract myself with somethin'."

He offers a nod and a warm "Do you really think so? The Inn seems like a wonderful place, for the most part at least."

Moving to stand next to her, he holds out the next piece of clothing. "Well, would I be allowed to help or does that fall under cheating as well?"

"Of course. Normally it ain't a bad place at all, but today..." Edna trails off, shaking her head and pressing a hand to her chest. "It makes me feel like..."

She blushes and shakes her head again quick so that her dark hair hits the sides of her face.

"No, well, oh aren't you a sweet heart? Offering your precious services and time up to me, but no. Can't have a man doing the laundry. That won't do at all. 'Sides it is my business. Won't do to pawn that work on to others."

Lily looks much more well-rested than she has, when she joins her son at his table.

She also looks annoyed, but it's not directed at him.

"Have you seen your mangy, misbegotten godfather?"

"Erhm, no? Not since I last came in." Harry blinks at her, registering for a slow moment that she's there and she's she, and then smiles, "Hi, Mum. Sirius' has ticked you off then?"

"Rather. Clearly it has been far too long since he felt my wrath."

Lily drums her fingers on the table, scowling.

"My vengeance shall be swift and terrible. Mark my words."

Harry should believe that, given what she did to Petunia and Vernon.

"Really? Did he do something bad enough to deserve the wrath?"

Harry does believe it and it comes out in the way he says the words.

He adjusts his glasses on his nose and clears his throat, feeling a little nervous on his godfather's account.
