Always lookin' out...

Dec 14, 2007 22:58

JD is sitting on a couch, biting his thumbnail, bouncing his foot, and looking very antsy. The truth is, he's restless. He's been in the Inn far longer than healthy. He absolutely loves every second that he's with April and everyone else has been awesome as always, but he hasn't been a doctor in over four months now ( Read more... )

George tries to be quiet as she approaches the younger girl until she's inches close, then her hands settle on Juliet's shoulder and she speaks. "What're we watching?"

Maybe if she was paying a bit more attention, if she'd seen Xander and the way he keeps watching the door, she wouldn't be nearly as playful, as it is, she's oblivious.

Juliet gasps in high pitched surprise and turns to look back, letting out a breath of relief, because it's George and not... well, she's not sure what she'd thought it'd be. Just instinct really.

She smiles a little and shakes her head. "Hello. Sorry, I was... distracted. What is it that you said?"

She's a little startedl by the scream, jumping back a bit herself, befure laughing. "Nothing, don't worry about it."

Her eyes follow Juliet's and she raises a brow. "Xander TV, I hear it's aol the rage in Canada."

Juliet blinks and then smiles a little at the sound of the word, brows furrowing in confusion.

"Canada?" She looks back over at Xander. "Yeah, I talked to him a little. He's... going back."

Here, JD. Have a wife.

She really doesn't have to look at him for more than a few seconds to know what's up with him.

So she sits in his lap.

"So, when are we going home?"

JD is very happy to have a wife.

"Soon. Maybe later, actually? If I can find Ben and it's cool with you? I was... gonna wait for Steve, y'know..." Trailage, because he doesn't quite want to deal with that at the moment. "But I've been here so long it's like being all couped up. And I've got cabin fever! Even though, you're amazing and y'know camping was fun, but... yeah"

She laughs and kisses him. "That's fine," she says. "And I think Steve's planning on going back to New York soon anyway."

He wants to be home when he goes.

"So yeah, whenever you're ready. I'll just find the Doctor and let him know."

"Oh, right, that's probably good, then. Right. I mean, going home for... all of that and I'm sure we'll find out eventually from... Sue. She's from his world and stuff."

JD blinks at her next words and kind of just stares at her for a moment, rather... confused.

"Why... would you have to tell the Doctor?"

Danny's watching Xander too.

He's a cop, see, and....well, the signs of abuse? Kinda obvious.

(Also he watches the show. Sssh, don't tell, it'd ruin his image.)

So is Danny's badge, so if Xander sees this strange guy watching him, well....at least he's a cop?

Xander wouldn't even notice him, but he gets that creepy feeling that people tend to get when they're being watched.

He turns and blinks, straightening his shoulders and noticing the cop badge immediately. It makes him feel more than a little awkward.

"Uh... yeah? Sorry. It's just... you're... kind of staring and it's giving me the wiggins."

"....sorry, kid."

Danny's gaze flickers to the bruise.

It's kind of obvious what he's thinking.

Remember, Xander: cop.

"Didn't mean to....wig you out."

Danny's not mocking the slang! Danny is a COOL grownup, really.

Xander turns his head away, quick, when the cop looks at his cheek.

He does kind of blink when the guy tries to use the slang.

"Yeah. That word doesn't really work for you." Xander smiles just a little. "Sorry."

Peter appears with a thermos of cocoa and a plate of ginger cookies. "Hey, Juliet." He has a slightly-worried look on his face. "Are you alright?"

Juliet looks up at him, obviously not paying very much attention to her surroundings, because it takes her a moment to respond.

"Oh, yes, I'm just fine. I'm just... worried about a friend is all. Thank you for asking." She smiles, because it's Peter, and then tilts her head at the plate, grateful for the distraction. "What are those?"

"Oh? What's up?" Yes. Peter cares. He plops down, and takes a cookie. "They're ginger cookies. I don't know if you have Christmas yet in your time, but it's almost that holiday back home. They're slightly spicy cookies, and they're amazing." He holds out the cookie. "I even made them myself." Peter has discovered that the Inn has a kitchen.

"Uhm. It's a bit complicated, but he doesn't have the... best parents. I'm worried about him, but he's... not really letting any of us in, and there isn't anything I can do to help."

Juliet smiles brightly and reaches out for the cookie. "Oh, wow. We have Christmas," Although, it's most likely called something else at the time, but the narration is too lazy to look it up. "But we don't have anything like this."
