Though Remus wasn't a total fan of the wards, he had to admit there was a plus side to them. He was able to meet Sirius at the door before he even had a chance to knock or ring the doorbell. For once, Remus was glad Tal and Jen were out of the house. Tal wanted to go into London and Jen agreed to take them. Remus trusted the two and allowed them to go. Hell, he was letting them be on their own more and more often. How bad could things get in London?

That, and it gave him time with his best mate all by his lonesome. He needed the time. He wanted to be able to talk freely with Sirius without prying eyes and ears.

He threw wide the door and greeted Sirius with a large grin. "Heard you coming up, so I figured I'd meet you half way. Come on in. I have some drinks waiting in the living room."

Regulus followed closely behind Remus. This was brilliant. Remus couldn't even tell that it wasn't Sirius and here, had let him right into his home. It took all of Regulus's hard-earned self control to keep from gloating over the situation. He was brilliant is what he was.

"Thanks, mate," Regulus said, stepping next to Remus and dropping his arm around the other man's shoulders. "Should have known you to have Ogden's best on hand."

For this, Regulus would drink the vile stuff.

"I know you're wanting to be the good host, but come, Moony. What's the bad news? You were so anxious to talk to me. You don't need to do it over drinks, do you?"

Remus glanced up and shook his head slowly. No, they didn't need drinks for this. However, he felt like it might go down easier. Thus, he didn't say anything to Sirius, but rather led him through the house and to the living room.

"I feel bad. We haven't had the chance to have everyone over for a house warming party." Remus sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Or even just to bloody have you over. I know you said you wanted to bring the kids some things. It's just..." He sighed again. "It's been well, hellish around here."

He poured them both generous glasses of Firewhiskey, passing one to Sirius and sitting down on the couch beside him. "Drink, and then I'll talk."

Gifts for the kids? Fuck. Regulus hoped Remus wasn't expecting him to have gifts for the little brats. Hell, he barely managed to contain the blank look on his face at the mention of presents. Well, this is what he got for impersonating his brother, wasn't it?

Rather than mention anything about gifts or prats or children, Regulus decided to stick to easy subjects. Like what was bothering Remus, jumping him and praying to any god that would listen that Severus would arrive soon.

He'd break the two up permanently and manage to get his brother... probably killed or at least maimed. Not too bad for a day's work.

Remus officially hated his body. Not only was it reacting to the way Sirius was rubbing against him, but he heard moans escaping his lips. Moans as Sirius's teeth came in contact with his earlobe... in the same way Severus would touch him. God this wasn't right. This couldn't be Sirius. Remus knew Sirius hated Severus, but he wouldn't go this far to completely end their marriage.

Would he?

Struggling seemed futile as Sirius had him pinned perfectly. Even his enhanced strength couldn't push Sirius off. Damn it for being only a few days past the moon. He had no strength. None. All he could do was moan and react -- hips rising to grind against Sirius. And hate his body for being so weak as to react to a male on top of himself.

"You know I love you like a brother... but... Sirius. Please, don't," Remus managed to gasp out. Severus's name got caught in his throat along with any further protestations. Off, please... love Severus and not you. PLEASE! The words were thought, but couldn't come out of his lips. He didn't care how pissed he ( ... )

Severus' day had been yet another long and boring sequence of hours. He'd been playing with Draco's idea for a magically enhanced tanning solution, and while he was pleased with the internal tonic he'd created, he just hadn't found the right combination for the topical lotion. He'd had two owls from Jen, both telling him that she found him dreary and loathsome, and he hadn't really spoken with Remus at all since Friday. The fight. God, had they ever fought like that before? He didn't think so. Every day seemed the same routine. Awaken then leave before he could speak with Remus. Today, he hadn't been home in twelve hours.

But all day long, he'd been dogged by memories of the past three days, and the things they'd hollered at each other. He was still furious with Remus for keeping something so huge from him, for not trusting him enough to share his need and fear. Yes, Severus was glad that Remus wasn't pregnant-- at his age, and with the amount of physical strain the transformations put him under, it wouldn't be easy. Hell, ( ... )

Oh this was perfect. He was a fucking genius. He had Remus pinned in such a way that it was impossible to struggle and Severus was standing in the doorway. It took all of Regulus's control to keep from grinning and gloating. He had come up with something brilliant. Of course, it wasn't as if he ever doubted himself. He knew he was this good.

So much that he didn't stop the onslaught of kisses and nips. Not as Remus tried to protest. Not as he knew Severus was staring.

Nope, he'd give the bastard plenty to stare at. Get "Sirius" into enough trouble, then get the hell out of there.

Something was going seriously wrong -- no pun intended. Remus was finding that his hips were actually doing a good job of trying to throw Sirius off. Of course, Remus also knew what this had to look like to the outside observer. It looked like he was trying to... well... best not to think of that ( ... )

Never, never did Remus imagine Severus would turn around and leave. Perhaps Remus knew Severus had it in him, but he thought... hoped... and felt that hope fall and crash into a million pieces as Severus turned his back ( ... )
