So, I've been talking the last couple of days about getting myself a box of some sort. furniture looking - probably wooden - to fill with games so that when people come over, I can say, "hey, lets play a game!" and then actually pull out games to sit down and play. :)

yeah, I can see that as being a good first step. Possibly followed by the removal of dust and/or mold.... :)
I actually really like games. I've kinda been avoiding most game stations and computer games b/c I'd never get anything done if I did get back into them. and I see board games as a decent alternative. and they're interactive which is half the fun!
then again, you've got a small human that might enjoy tactile games in addition to the electronic wonders that exist in your house, yes?

Indeed he does--his favorite (so far, as he hasn't gotten to play most of them) is one called Fireball Island, and I'm sure he'll like many of the others. (We also have a PS2, a Wii, and a Gamecube; the PS2 sees almost no use when he's not here, same with the Gamecube (which is in his room), and the Wii has mostly been used for exercise with the WiiFit lately.
We mostly play World of Warcraft. :]
