we went to the ortho yesterday ... bone's healing up fine, but they still give him another two months for a complete heal. we return in one month to get an x-ray, the cast taken off and then wait to see from there. they gave him the option of color cast ... he chose the maroon [then asked if i had any gold pens/markers so his friends could sign it ( Read more... ) -

has a follow up with the ortho thursday. they're going to fit him with a cast. [in the beginning he was wearing an orthotic boot. and by wearing i mean using it maybe 10% of his waking time. the doc said he needs to be wearing it 24/7, even when he sleeps, and, well, the boy knew he'd be tempted to remove it so he asked to be casted instead. for ( Read more... ) -

we have tons of them. little quips we tell one another, that we make up about our pets. my favorite is about spencer:
me: can i bring a good kitten home?
tim: no.
me: okay.
and that's how we ended up with our cat. -
my day off ...
every year, the jefe gives us our birthdays off. if it falls on the weekend, he'll give us a friday or a monday off. :) he's awesome like that ( Read more... ) -

i got a call yesterday from julian while he was at school ... he was in the nurse's office. said he'd rolled his ankle while playing basketball in gym class. i know how much a pain in the ass those things can be, so i sympathized. he said it wasn't swollen, just painful to walk on. i talked to the nurse and she said she was icing it down just in ( Read more... )
