Aug 05, 2009 12:07

Saw that it had been suggested we make new posts, which makes sense as it might garner more readership and further comment, so here I am doing that for TFC 66-78, don't recall the checkpoint number, four or five. Comments under the cut.

In the last question, how old is Jemmy here - I can't remember?

I picture him as a toddler, and they are old enough to understand spankings and hot. I only qualify it by that I can't remember his actual age.

I keep wondering that myself. I'm going to go through my books and check out the age.

No clue and that's part of my problem. It just doesn't seem enough time has passed for him to be that smart, but then I'm listening to it, and did the first time too, so it's not like I can go back easily and figure out dates or remember them for that matter. But I keep thinking of him as being around 8 months to a year old, not walking yet. Bree had said something about someone saying he should have been walking by now, but people say that all the time no matter how old your child is. Maybe our fearless leader can answer the question. Or maybe there's a time line somewhere?

"I was horrified and it did look as if it were going to happen that we would be losing him. Despite my annoyance I felt horrible for Brianna. I did get upset, the whole thing was so wrong, even if it hadn't been Roger the circumstances were all wrong. As I listened the first time I couldn't believe she was killing off a major character like that and kept telling myself, "They all have to die eventually." The whole thing is so gruesome, but so telling of DG's talent that it grosses me out that badly and evokes such emotions ( ... )

5. Oh that is a thought. I think the Jem has the potential to be a lot like Jamie and if that is true then he would be a good landlord.

10. See that was my thought and then cat pointed out that he knows where she is which is interesting but there is the potential for another reason to know that but we will just have to see.

13. So we think DG had Roger do it because he's seen it in Jamie or she just wanted us to sit here talking about it?

LOL, that would be rather devious of her for sure!

"5. Yes. As I said in #2 - I think this is when he starts to see Roger differently. I love how angry he gets, and while it would have been great to see him hurt someone, I'd rather see him hurt William Buckley MacKenzie. I wonder if he'll ever turn up again?"

It wouldn't surprise me if he does. It seems people who cause trouble always do.

"Also, what do people think of Roger and Bree's interactions during these scenes? Her trying to find things to talk about with him; trying to be playful while feeding him, etc. Is she helping or making things worse? It's got to be awful for him to be so helpless and dependent. We see how much he wants to be active and useful once he starts to recover, even as he's becoming withdrawn emotionally."

I think she might be trying to keep him with her both physically and mentally. I think the issue of her helping or not is solely up to how Roger takes it and we don't know that. As you point out earlier, something I hadn't really thought of at all, we are not getting his POV at this point so we don't really know what he's thinking of anything.

Say on, say on! I think I've learned more about everything by reading other's take on ti.

Yeah, it makes me sad too because we all want it to work out for them like it has for Jamie and Claire.
