From the time that she got up at seven, until right now, everyone had been asking her how she was, if she was okay, did she need anything. God she wasn't going to snap into pieces, she wasn't breakable, damn it. Yet everyone thought that she was just a weak little girl, ( Read more... )

"He's an ass, but a well intentioned ass." Dave sat next to her with three eggs, and a stack of pancakes with sausage as well as a mug of black coffee ( ... )

So many times she'd been snuck up on, and each of those times she had been startled into pre-mature heart failure, but by now, and now how pissed off she was, she didn't even register it anymore.

"You've got that right." DG replied, mostly about the well intentioned ass part. He was smothering the crap out of her, but it was because he cared. Her head lifted from the table as she glanced towards Jason and offered a nod. "I know, but I'm tired of it and he just doesn't seem to get that."

Glancing at him for a moment, a sigh escaped her, she knew that he was right. No matter how well she didn't let it effect her it was going to hit, and it was going to hit her hard no matter how long it hit.

Smirking partially at that she shrugged, "I don't think he'd respond well to violence." Telling him she was fine, didn't seem to be doing the trick though. With a groan she reached forward and took his coffee mug, taking a drink of it before sliding it back where it was, letting her head hit the table again. "This is so frustrating."

"You're right. He'd fall back on his Tin Man sensitivity training and chalk violence up to one of the stages in the books. Because he's only had to deal with the immediate aftermath from arrests. Never the long term. I bet you most of what he THINKS he knows is from academy training ( ... )

She literally made a 'blah' sound, as he talked about what Cain would probably do. She loved him to death but he was completely over analyzing everything that she said or did, and it was beginning to piss her the hell off. At first it was cute, he was worried, and it was still appreciated but now he was going to get hurt, somehow ( ... )

“Ooooh, you can tickly my fancy anytime you want, princess.” Dave gave a wink and a smirk. “There are these feathers that are really fluffy near the base and more rigid at the tip. Hmmm ( ... )

This was possibly the most amusing conversation she'd had since she had woken up from the coma, and she was glad it was with him. He had a way with words. "Yeah.. probably not. Neither of us want to be hurt." Then a pause, "Unless it's sexual, and I will, if he refuses my seduction." She offered her own wink, her fork playing with the food on her table.

"Poor Dave. You can always use your best friend to threaten people." With that she pointed at herself, "I can be scary, you know." Maybe possibly if she could learn how to use her damned magic.

With a slight eye-roll she glanced over towards Jason, "He can be. He's just doing his job, especially since Cain came down on all the guards pretty hard, I heard."

"When done right you can enhance pleasure with a touch of pain. Just a smidgen." Dave agreed. He didn't like doling out pain. Not real pain. And he wouldn't anymore. But a sting to make better was another story. "Maybe Wyatt needs a good spanking ( ... )

Part of her wanted to ask him why he was such an expert on that, but then a larger part told her not to even worry about it and to just take his word for it, which was exactly what she was going to do. The spanking bit caused her to cough herself, not because it wasn't possible but because it was unexpected ( ... )

“Ah yes, I’m sure her Majesty is sitting on the edge of her seat for the number of the rounds of ammo we have in stock, the complaints of the guards, who’s filed for vacation or family leave, how many new uniforms have to be made and oh, my personal favorite, a requisition for two more stable boys for the Guard stables as the number of increased horses means much more manure in need of clearing.” Wow, all in one sentence. He’d impressed himself ( ... )

"It might not seem important but maybe it is to her, she doesn't have her magic to rule anymore." DG announced with sadness laced through her voice, her eyes now finding interest on her fingers that were messing with the edge of the food table.

Dave's outburst as he realized he had been duped made her grin, "Cain outsmart you Dave?" Oh that was funny, but she wasn't going to laugh, at least not in front of him, he was clearly thinking. Probably wanting to figure out a way to get him back.

"A day off can usually help," With a nod her eyes turned towards Jason who simply gave a nod of his head with the same bored expression that he always wore. He needed a vacation. All of her guards did.

"I think I'm going to go do my lessons to shove it in peoples faces that I'm okay, and then I think I'll go pounce on Cain when I see him." Sounded like an idea to her.

"Outmaneuvered, not outsmarted." Dave protested. He was not gonna be outmaneuvered for long. Or at the very least without a bit of payback.

That could wait until Cain wasn't in crisis mode.

"Well, you could always have Jace carry a sign emblazoned with 'She's fine, shut up.' on it." Dave smirked. "In his non-gun hand, of course."

Narrowed eyes from the guard. Dave smirked.

"But pouncing Cain seems like a good idea. If you can find him. He's worried about the caravan coming to the infirmary later today, and he'll be at it most of the night, I bet. So when you do pounce, A - his defenses will be low from exhaustion, and B- he'll really, really need the stress relief."
