(This might be one of the strangest things I've written, but I hope you like it anyway!)

And We Drown [Coriolanus, Coriolanus/Aufidius, Trust issues + Admiration and envy + Violence] 1/2

It’s never easy between them.

They started in violence, there’s no way to get away from that. They were both born for war. Born and bred for it and he doesn’t have Coriolanus’ formidable mother but sometimes he thinks that’s the only difference between them. They are two sides of the same coin. And so it is fitting, inevitable, that they should’ve merged together so even before they merged properly - fists in ribs and claws across skin and scars so deep that not all of them can be accounted entirely physical ( ... )

And We Drown [Coriolanus, Coriolanus/Aufidius, Trust issues + Admiration and envy + Violence] 2/2It starts with Coriolanus throwing him up against the wall, a physical fact. They haven’t even been arguing, this is just the way that they choose to relate. It passes for affection, almost, their brutal kind of love. The man crowds in closer, kisses him like they’re drowning. He bites like they’re coming back to life in return, earns a rumbled note of pleasure as he debates softly on just how to cut the poison out ( ... )

There are not enough synonyms for glorious and perfect and this to sum up how much I love this fic. OH MY GOD. I saw that you had posted it and that it was Coriolanus/Aufidius and I dropped everything I was doing because just had to read it right away - and I am so glad I did. If this is one of the strangest things you've written, maybe you should think about writing more strange things because, while I'm not sure I'd call it strange, my god would I call it good ( ... )

Eeee, thank you very much! :D I worried that it was a touch too dreamy, but I'm so glad that you liked it! And, I must admit, I saw Coriolanus/Aufidius on your list and immediately went "YEP. WRITING THAT". I just watched the 2011 film a few weeks back and finally discovered just how homoerotic it was, and I've been meaning to write fic ever since then so it's wonderful to finally get around to it! And thank you for having it on your list ( ... )

It may have a slightly dream-like and ethereal quality but it's not too dreamy at all! I loved it. When I put Coriolanus/Aufidius on my list I was sure no-one would write it (because it's not like there's a Coriolanus fandom to speak of) but I couldn't not include it because their relationship is so perfect and everything I could ever want out of a ship. And, yesss, the 2011 film is incredibly homoerotic. (Though even the 1980s BBC film included shirtless sword-fighting and pressing each other against walls - it's just impossible to get away from the current of homoerotic desire with Coriolanus.) I am so glad I could finally make you write about it though. :D ( ... )

I'll just second everything outboxed said because this is amazing and perfect and yes, you should definitely write 'strange' things more often if this is your definition of strange. This is just epic and everything I love about these two.

Thank you so much! I more thought it strange because I wrote it in a slight fugue and was absolutely convinced that it'd slipped into everything. XD I'm glad you like it, though, and I need to write more for them. I have never seen a play so homoerotic in all my life (and I study ancient GREECE).
