Especially if there are several papers to a panel, moderator should be rigorous about keeping them to time. (And people giving papers should time them in advance.)

As in, first paper in first session.
So there's that, and a few people saying they liked it, or that they were sorry to miss it (parallel sessions).
Also I have been able to connect to eduroam, which is sometimes a problem.

That was a great conference, even with the AV and IT hitches along the way.
Much good humour along with the vibrant intellectual exchanges.
Great conversations, some useful connections made.

Call me a miserable old grump, but I just saw on Twitter a breaking report that somebody's partner attended their conference session at a conference in Oxford, and in the discussion session popped the question, and I went, WHAT FRESH HELL IS THIS*.
I depose that that is a scenario which belongs, if at all, in a romcom and should stay there.

Well, my dearios, far be it from me to boast, but yr hedjog can still totally rock a conference presentation, even very short on sleep.
The session was v well attended - gratifying! - and I went last. Very good response at the time, and a very pleasing number of people coming up to remark on it to me.
