Suggestions?
Been watching this comm for a while and I love so many of the rooms posted here, I thought I'd ask for some help.
I want to re-do my room. It was fine for a while, but now that I'm studying again, I need somewhere to do that. And the flimsy little TV-Table I'm using in our lounge room is just not big enough to hold my laptop and notes.
My room has always been an awkward shape. All the rooms in out house are. It's also not very big, as you'll see from the photos.
I'm also wanting to re-paint. We live in a housing commission home, so any paint has to be light-ish pastel colors...I was thinking a nice blue, as my furniture is chocolate brown, and I like the way those colors go together?
This is the view from the doorway looking straight in. On the left is my closet, that has to stay where it is, can't be moved. Up a little further on the left is a little unit that has some trinkets, my TV and PS2, and DVD's on the shelves. Also, a cat, lol.
This is from the door, looking in to the right. That's my bed, and not much else.
This is the view from next to my bed. Again, you see the closet, and the teeny entertainment unit. I'm thinking of moving the TV to a wall mount, and turning that unit into something to put my toiletries/makeup/etc on.
The view from in front of the entertainment unit, looking at the bed. That bedside table is staying, as it was a bargain find (down to $30 from $200, because a leg was broken. My dad fixed it up and it's perfect) and was exactly what I wanted for my room.
My thoughts are to move the bed and have some sort of smallish desk at the end of the bed. I can use my laptop on the bed for short periods until my back pain flares up, then sit at the end of the bed at the small desk. The TV would be mounted up above that desk, along with some shelves to put notes, pens, etc on.
I also plan to get a new bed soon, as mine is old and needs replacing. The one I want to get will be raised up off the floor, so there can be storage underneath it too.
Does anyone have some possible ideas or suggestions?
