Today! (Drabble #9)

Oct 06, 2007 23:42

Happy birthday, mustntgetmy! I'm not sure what the time difference will do to my timing, but I can assure you it's the right day where I am now. xD

Here's the present I promised you. Sorry for the experiment, but it turns out I've written my first Albus/Gellert fic for this occasion. Hope it's at least decent.

Happy reading! ; )

Pairing: Dumbledore/ ( Read more... )

fic: hp, albus/gellert, drabbles, slash (problematic labelling aside), happy birthday, writing, actual stories

Oooooh, this was magnificent! I love how by the second sentence I already have a very clear idea of what kind of person Gellert is, and how you manage to slightly warp that perception by the last sentence. And the fire/ice element? Beautiful. (I'm also sort of thinking of Albus's eyes) And this? Albus is aware of this, but admires the other’s nonchalance, the pride Gellert takes in his own abilities in a way Albus himself never could, that much more for it. At first I'm all, "Aww, that's so Dumbledore." but by then end, I felt all, "AWW, DUMBLES!"

Ahem, in short, nice job :)

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Fantastic b-day gift.

And yes, of course you can post it to grindeldore.

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I'd been tweaking this drabble literally to the last minute, all the time thinking, "Damn it, this isn't good enough. Quick, change it somehow!" And so it went until I finally posted it. XD
Anyway, it makes me feel all accomplished that you had a sense of the characters from the fic. With Gellert I was just trying to show how Albus sees him (sort of as a contradiction), but Albus was the one I wanted to capture. Especially in that sentence you've pointed out! (And the fire-ice thing works wonderfully for Albus's eyes, now that you mention it. ♥ )

Happy birthday again!

I'll post it to the comm in a bit. ^_^

Albus's eyes are really an ingenious way to use a fire-ice theme. Cause they're all twinkly and warm, but they're actually blue. So then you make that connect and it's all ZOMG AWESOME. (AKA what the fic was like)

Thank you again!

Wonderfully said! I'm developing such a fondness for Albus's eyes thanks to this. Especially since they always stay that fascinating, even when he's old and all. (*blush*)

Thank you! I actually have a fic idea for these characters, but I need to develop it a bit more before I write anything. XD

Wonderful. Utterly wonderful. The way you managed to potray Geller in such few sentences is amazing. The reader can truly feel him being that way, like Albus is feeling him. an dthe last sentence does close perfectly the drabble.
Amazing drabble, sweetie.

*blushes* I'm happy you liked it! This was totally my first time writing Gellert (since Albus at least has a minor appearance in one of my in-progress fics) and I wanted to do him justice somehow. And I'm really glad you liked the ending.

This is all the more impressive if it was the first time you wrote about Gellert. Congratulations. :))
Actually, I'm always waiting authors at the turning point that is the ending. ;)

Whee, thanks! He's turning out to be a lot of fun to write, the sexy thing. XD

Me too, in fact. The ending should somehow wrap it up. And if not, then it has to be on purpose. ; )
