Gad, kittens!

Well, Skit the Uncatchable and Untamable has gifted us with three kittens. They're in a small space under a cabinet in the garage, well protected by the chaos that fills it. I have to move an old tv stand, lie on my belly, and use a flashlight to see them, but I believe there are three: a gray, a gray and white, and an orange one, who takes after ( Read more... )

She might move them anyway, especially if she gave birth in there. Mama cats often do that. I hope you can socialize them and find homes for them. Good luck!

We were only able to catch our own neighborhood feral cat "Momma" after she had a batch of kittens in our window well. Check with a local cat shelter or rescue for how old they will take them and grab them as soon as you can.

We used the kittens as 'bait' in a larger dog crate (we put them in a small kitty carrier inside the crate) and pulled the door shut with some string after mom when in to check on them. We were able to get the carrier out of the crate because mom was scared of us.

The kittens went to the the shelter (we cried but couldn't keep them) and we took Momma to the vet. The rules here are that we had to say that she was our cat who was a 'little wild' in order for the vet to operate on her. Luckily it all worked out. Momma was able to come home with us and lived in the dog crate for a few days to heal up.

She has been running the neighborhood ever since. (Going on 3 years now).

Oh, how cute. I remember when our cats had their kittens. Tough little ones. :D When they have reached the age of running around, I would love to see pics of them. :D

We managed to sneak up and grab Gabrielle by the back of her neck while she was nursing her litter and get her into a carrier. Put the kits on a towel, got everybody into the storage room in the basement - no where to hide, if she got out, she still had the rest of the basement and house to go to finish the job - and made sure there was a kitty box, plenty of food, water, and warm fabric - couldn't call any of them towels or blankets or clothes anymore - for them all on a daily basis. Drastic measures because we had Hurricane - that day it was - Isabel crawling up our spine and Gabby's nest was in a flood area. Took forever to tame her, but she was a great girl while she lived.
