that's encouraging to hear!!

my dog Garrett is still a little skittish on walks unless my other dog, Whoopi is there with him, and they're 11 and 12.

That sounds like great progress! It's a very good thing to let him take things at his own pace and reward every little advancement. Good luck!

Im a vet and I think that the progress your making sounds very positive. I would reccomend two things. i wouldn't neccesarrily put jackson in another room when your company comes to visit. I would definitely make sure that he has his safe place in the room and I would even consider if his kennel is his safe place in the house maybe move it to one corner of the room that your company is in, so that if it gets to be too much for him he can always go there. The other suggestion I would make(actually it was a suggestion made by my partner at our surgery, who for the record is also my brother.) is that when people come to visit you might put him on his lead and then you both go and greet people together and as people come to visit make the whole experience very positive full of praise and maybe even get your guest to offer him a toy or a cookie. Over time, that should help with densensitizeing him(sorry for the bad spelling I have the flu, as Im writing this)to guests comming to your home ( ... )

Thanks. I think he's ready to try those methods. He had a great time at my meditation meeting last night. I put him and his sister in my bedroom during the meditation (so they don't disrupt) and let them out while we're having tea ( ... )
