So, I did something that I'd been arguing over with my parents for... well over a year.  I got rid of my land line and cable tv.  Because I pretty much don't use them at all and they made me get them.  ^__^  So I pretty much got rid of them and I e-mailed them and told them afterwards.

And since we moved we have neither landline nor cable, and we don't miss them. Plus we save $. We do miss Youtube-speed internet, though.

why can't you just hook up with a better isp and skip on the tv/landline combo deal?

Cable/dsl internet doesn't run as far out as our house (we were told otherwise by Comcast before we bought the house, and then they pulled a switch on us when we asked them to hook it up). The only options for tv/internet out here are satellite and MiFi (or antenna, for the tv).

Yeah, we're not happy at all with Comcast right now, but MiFi is working okay. No YouTube/Netflix streaming, though.

Or MyFi, I don't remember how to spell it. It works through Verizon's cell service.
