The big text kinda freaked me out at first, lol. I really don't mind your wall of text with the small font. I just joke about it. I like reading it. :)

As for the tree, way to go with the reference and concept stuff. :D I do think that a huge gnarly creepy tree is probably too much for 1st graders.

I know you've prolly thought this up and down, but how about a huge oak tree? You get the gnarly and twisty without the creepy.
