"A rose by any other name..."

Much fun was had by all yesterday at the aquarium. Except, perhaps, for the moment in the 4D movie in which Nieceling #2 completely freaked out at being spritzed in the face, having air puffed at the back of her neck, electric fish with great big teeth flying straight at her, and me flailing beside her because I swear something smacked me on the ( Read more... )

Mom and Dad have DirecTV and they love it. They haven't had a problem when it rains, but then again, SoCal does not equal lots of rain. And the dish is very small--it's about the size of a dinner plate. You can't even see theirs from the street, but that might be because it's hiding behind the chimney...

*loves the dorklings* They just randomly decided to be pirates? That kicks so much ass.

Okay, so that's one vote of confidence for. :)

And yeah, much amusement. The playground had two of those wooden sets with the swinging bridge walkways and big plastic slides. Nieceling #1 ran for one as soon as we got there, shouting "This is MY ship! The other one is Jonathan's! Watch out! We're going to attack you!" Hee!

They would've loved the playground at the park by my parents' house. It was two halves of a sunken galleon, connected by a wooden swing bridge. It even had the rope riggings that you could climb and hang from. Too bad some stupid teenager burned it down smoking about five years back. *mutters*

Light rain hasn't been a problem, but if you throw wind in, it might be a good idea to have some dvds or books lying around the house. It's never gone out for a long time, though, maybe an hour at most. The dish isn't that large, so it won't look monstrously huge on your roof.

Good to know. My cable hasn't gone out in ages, so if the dish does go out in wind, that could be a little aggravating. At least finding a few books lying around is never a problem at my house. *g*
