Ooo, that's a good one! I guess it started after my post-college period of self-imposed celibacy. I had a few hook-ups, some better than others and it all just seemed so empty. I wish I could remember how I found the term "polyamory" but I remember clearly cruising PolyMatchMaker looking for SOMEONE to be in a polyfi triad with, because I really felt like I was just TOO MUCH for one person to handle. I wanted that triad more than anything in my life at that point. I got Leandra hooked on the site too (we'd been friends for two or so years by that point) and shortly after that we started dating (Nov. 3rd 2005). And then shortly after THAT, Kamber (who we'd encounted before) joined up with us (Dec. 17th 2005) and we just sort of started being poly. It wasn't a decision so much as it just HAPPENED. Kamber made it clear early on that he wanted an open relationship. I had a few growing pains with that, being new to poly and all, but we worked through it with patience and communication.
