FREE TWINS TICKETS
I'm going with my company to the Twins game tonight, and it ends up we have 2 extra tickets I ended up with 2 tickets instead of one.
It is apparently in a box with free food, so let me know ASAP if you want to go, and I'll reserve them with my boss, so it doesn't go to waste.

This upsets me. I know I'm a bit biased on the matter, but honestly! Marching Band is a big part of high school. The bond formed over blood, sweat and tears cannot be matched. Now all three schools have a glorified pep band. And if the district thinks that band families don't come to see their kid march, they've got something coming. My ( Read more... ) -
Sparring
Man, last night's class at the Dojang was fun! When I got there, I got a bunch of "I was wondering where you were, I forgot you tested" from the beginners (with a congrats afterwords). I also got a lot of congrats from the int/adv class, as well as some Cheshire Cat-like grins regarding sparring.

Oye, so I have about 100 Japanese characters to memorize before my next class (about 2 weeks thanks to the holiday on Monday). Granted there are duplicates between hiragana and katakana, and there are tricks like the "dot-dot" and "circle" (I don't know the official term for those off the top of my head) for certain letters, which should make ( Read more... ) -
Weekends are restful? What?!
Okay, okay, it was relaxing, but restful is a different story.
Thursday night my sister came to visit. She just got home from spending 3 weeks in India, and was taking an overnight pit stop in my apartment. It was a lot of fun, and we talked quite awhile. This weekend I went to open workout for 2.75 hrs (even though it's supposed to be 2 hours long), a great sparring class, watched 8 full episodes of BSG (all caught up now), took an impromptu trip to Rochester (and got my face washed many times by my sister's puppies), and now I'm spent ( Read more... ) -

Okay, so I know it's been the New Year for about a week now, but here's the obligatory New Year's post.
My resolutions for 2008: Mission accomplished. I'm out of South Dakota. I'm working a decent job that's kinda/maybe/sorta in my field. I'm training again. And I'm hanging out with cool people, both new friends and old. I'm much happier than ( Read more... ) -

Frak. It's frelling cold out, and will be for quite some time.
(Also, what great joy is it referring to? Passing the FM Actuarial Exam? Rocking the Midwest HRD tourney? Going on a date? Thoughts?)

My normal 20ish minute drive home from work took 2 hours. I'm obviously staying home tonight, and will not be training at the Dojang.
