Sometimes people give me the benefit of the doubt and assume I read Buffy and Sandman (I do not read either of these) but could not begin to comprehend anything with people who wear spandex and fly. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THIS IS? I mean I kind of do but it doesn't make sense.

also there is a guy out there right now with the most irritating laugh and he laughs at everything he says even when it is not funny I am going to saw his head off
I sincerely hope you proceeded to own their ass with your superior knowledge until they were so ashamed they could do nothing but like meep and hang up.
Tragically I was stunned into silence, which I don't think was entirely unreasonable, really ... but that probably only led him to the conclusion that his initial assumption - that I was some kind of simpleton hired as a secretary or something - was correct.
Fortunately I know which shop he runs and I will sure as hell not be going in there again.
I know that feeling, and it's a damn shame. Cause fuckers like that NEED THE MOST TELLING OFF OF ANYONE. ;alskdr
My god. Every time I think that maybe comic book fans aren't as bad as all the stereotypes make them out to be, some one I know has a story like this and it makes me want to STAB.
Thiiiis. Holy crap. I'm sitting at work right now and I just showed this to my coworker (also female), and ugh, we understand this so hard. I get shit like this happening to me all the time, despite the fact that the girls who work here know FAR more about comics than the guys that work here.
*headdesks to the max* I'm the only ladyshaped employee here, and the boss is a serious hardcore comic book guy - so I actually am the least comics-knowledgeable of the staff here, overall, but that's because I've only been into comics that aren't X-Men for about nine months, not because I have ovaries. DERP DERP
Yeah. But don't you know, ovaries are obviously a repellent to comics? When I started working here, I'd pretty much only read a plethora of X-Men, House of M, and Civil War. I'd read assorted stuff from other characters (SM's The Other, Walking Dead, and a bunch of Alan Moore stuff). Most of the stuff I know, I learned after I started working here. I read a lot more now, so my co-workers have no excuse! They've all been reading comics forever.
But obviously, it matters not because I am a girl. My location has two female employees, but our other store has a bunch -- and we all get stuck dealing with this crap. 8|
Yeah, I mean, the stuff I do know? I know it very well. If you want to know, like, Alan Moore stuff that hasn't been made into a film (no one ever does, of course), or ... what is actually happening in stuff (as opposed to which 1:50 variant cover is the rarest), I am the person to ask! But no one does ask because of my mammaries. 8I Half the time when I'm standing right there looking helpful people will wait til the boss comes out to ask something.
Having a vagina causes a mental block preventing anyone possessing one to understand or know anything about comics? WHO KNEW?
These are probably the same people that think that having a penis is required to climb a ladder and paint scenery. I don't know. Maybe they are prehensile or something and I just never noticed.

There are plenty who are fine. But I have a lot more awful stories.

Also, I can't explain who Alan Moore is. WHAT IS HE, LIKE SOME KIND OF JAPANESE POP STAR?

I'm sorry you just smacked my brain into non-function with the idea of visual kei alan moore
