oh dear sweet gods I love fish... spent a week in San Fran once and i was in HEAVEN!!!!!!

but yeah, not enough people in Society eat fish which is a shame because I've been a a few events where it was on the menu and the dish came out perfectly, even moreso than the 'usual feast fare' that people raved about. crying, cryin shame.

man, i wish there was a place around here to get good fish for lunch.

I rarely cook fish at home - I had too much meh-quality fish growing up in a Catholic household. But if I'm at a restaurant and sea bass is on the menu, oh, baby. I very, very rarely pass it up. Yum.

Actually... I'd be up for attending a proper fish day type feast, love most fish and in many forms... fried, baked, boiled, cakes, pies, cured... Just like most meat though, it should be of good quality and cooked well(properly).

There is also fish on the EK Coronation menu this weekend.

I am unsure what kind.

The problem with SCA feast fish is that it's often an "extra" main dish and often some kind of whitefish in an odd sauce.

But I try everything!

Whitefish in sauce-- how is that a problem?
Define 'odd sauce'? Sauce without capsicum pepper?

And of course it's an 'extra' main dish. Many people refuse to eat it, so you buy 2 oz per person and let the different tables fight it out.

New metaphor for SCA feasts: tapas bar. Try everything. eat more of what you like.

I dunno. As my mom used to say, "More for the rest of us!"

(And besides, I feel personally responsible for the depopulation of the Grand Banks.)

Normally I would agree with you. Except that the autocrats Night on the Town are thinking about lowering the number of feast spaces based on reservations and she already bought the fish. It's frozen in chunks large enough to make it unreasonable for househould cooking (I asked thinking I would buy some off of her).

But yes any leftover fish at ToC is coming home with us.
