There is also fish on the EK Coronation menu this weekend.

I am unsure what kind.

The problem with SCA feast fish is that it's often an "extra" main dish and often some kind of whitefish in an odd sauce.

But I try everything!

Whitefish in sauce-- how is that a problem?
Define 'odd sauce'? Sauce without capsicum pepper?

And of course it's an 'extra' main dish. Many people refuse to eat it, so you buy 2 oz per person and let the different tables fight it out.

New metaphor for SCA feasts: tapas bar. Try everything. eat more of what you like.

I like your metaphor - it's often correct sadly.

I think that many people who actually like fish get tired of white fish and wish for a more "flavorful" fish. I know that when LLT is planning whitefish she generally uses talapia - which is not an accurate fish for many of the dishes but is more pleasing for people who don't like strongly flavored fish. However she makes a different fish for the Baron who dislikes talapia specifically because it does not have enough flavor for his taste.

I like white fish. A lot. I don't so much like fish such as trout. *shrug* I find I REALLY like salt cod, which most people, especially fish people, won't touch with a 10-foot fork because 'everyone knows' it sucks.
