FWIW Lynne and Liz got there after I did. Also I can't say what anyone else did but LLT and I cleaned and chopped all the damn chicken breast, Liz and I chopped mushrooms, Dani did the onions.
Also people liked the potatoes - they were the most common thing I had to refill.
I totally don't remember people asking for medium - and what I took out was medium well to well. People liked the rare.
Thanks - when I write these things, it's always from my perspective and with my faulty memory. I didn't really remember the order that you guys showed up just that you were all there early-ish.
My memory on the meat was that you came in at one point saying that people were asking if we were almost through with the rare meat and then later saying how funny it was that people had asked about not so rare but it wasn't getting eaten as fast as the rare stuff.
Normally I'd read this to LLT and have her edits in here but she's still snoring on the couch.
We were not late, we were right on time in accordance with our plan. I think we even stopped up the road a piece to be absolutely sure you were done loading in... :-P
Food was fantastic and plentiful. My potatoes were a bit tough, maybe they had been sitting a while?
We had leftover chicken marsala last night, and my husband loved it. (He spent most of his time sitting outside, and didn't eat much that night.) He did have some of the beef, though, and raved about it.
Now, I thought the mushrooms were fabulous, but found the thyme (or was it rosemary?) a little heavy-handed in the lentils. Go figure.
Yep - in 8 years Team Wench has raised over $70K with the Privateer Feast. That's AFTER the expenses of the feast. The money will be split between the fundraising accounts of Team Wench members who worked on the Feast that are either crewing or walking one of the Breast Cancer walks this year.
While it won't cover our entire minimum for walking it will be a slightly more than $1000K boost toward that minimum (IIRC there are 6 of us splitting the funds this year).
Team Wench also hosts other events for other charities, including MS. But I think this tends to be the biggest/most successful ones.
