i missed you guys this year!! i'm glad chris was able to sub in for me and did good by you. he'll also be glad to hear once more that he wasn't late -- he felt so bad. its my fault mostly too, i felt like crap and i think he was staying home till the last possible time to help me with the baby!
The food was *amazing.* The roast beef was perfect (we're still noshing on the bag you let maureen_the_mad take home, thank you) and I thought the mushrooms were delicious. I'd love the recipe for those and the pots de creme.
Thank you for all your hard work. It was all delicious. And I didn't think there was too much thyme in anything. (Although the buttered potatoes may have been more popular because everybody likes things drenched in butter.)

The Alaska Bombe was super-rich. Enough so that it took our group some time to finish them all. I think with some practice, they would be faboo--lit or not.
Most of all, I want to say THANK YOU for feeding the crazy hordes of people at the event. Y'all work as hard in that kitchen as Crew does on the walks.
Not my call - the actually feast Autocrat has not been announced yet. However I hate to say it, but for the last 3 years the Privateer Feast has been the last Saturday in February. Who knows, it might get moved this year - no way of knowing yet.
What we do know is that while LLT and I will help with feast prep (both shopping and the day of) we're not planning on being in the kitchen during the event so they still need to find a new head cook.
