I loved the not-so subtle references to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The song 'KKHH' played a few times throughout the movie, of course the character names being the same, and then there's this repeat in dialogue between Rahul and Anjali: "I don't like jokes!"..."I don't like you!" ♥

Ahaha, awesome! I'm going to have to get my hands on (as Saif called it) "Hey Why Baby Why." I half expect Shahrukh to pop up in every Bollywood film. In one scene in Dil Chahta Hai, I kept squinting thinking I had spotted him, but it was just some random extra...

I have yet to see any of these, but they're on my list. Netflix is lovely, but one at a time is so frustrating!

Also... talk to meeeeeeeee! *pouts*

Okay, shutting up now.

Netflix is a cursed blessing with that plan, *empathizes*. Have you tried your library? I was amazed by how huge a selection of films mine has (It even has some of the classic series of Doctor Who!). Once you've seen a few BW films, you'll probably know whether you like them or not. If you don't, free space in your queue! If you do, umm...happy waiting?

Hiiiiiiii! How are you feeling? Have you healed nicely after surgery? What have you been up to lately? I spend half my time stewing about the incompetence of my college (they've screwed me over yet again and refuse to take responsibility for the issue), writing ten page papers, studying for midterms and the other half of my time escaping from the crappy real world with movies and shows. This pretty much sums up my life for the past few years, *sigh*...

You, my dear, never have to shut up. In fact, you shouldn't! *hugs*

My public library has a better selection than it used to, but it's still not up to my standards. I also have... issues... with the library. I can't even remember how many times someone has screwed up my record at that library-- claiming that books are overdue, when in fact I never took them out at all, or they were never checked in (and could be found on the shelf)-- things like that. I don't actually take anything out of the library anymore. Now that they're raising money to build a new library, more and more people seem to have overdue books and are, of course, being charged fees. *hmmmmmmm ( ... )

That's...corrupted and quite pathetic. :( We need to whack some heads together and show those goons that a library is supposed to an awesome, available, and welcoming place. AGH. I returned a few items 3 minutes before closing on the due date at my library and the next day received a notification that I owed a late fine because of it. WTF--I had gone out of my way to have it on time! But I was later sent another note that the fine had been canceled. Have hope! Not all libraries are greedy bastards!

I'd never heard of Books By Mail. How do you know the selection? Is it kind of like having a Netflix queue? Even if the selection is meager though, it seems like a pretty nifty program. :)

I'm pretty sure I'll like them. What I've seen of Bollywood seems to mesh well with my personality. Also, I trust your brilliance. Do you have more to add to your rec list (this one? any others?)?Yeah. In order to appreciate Bollywood, you must like musicals and must be able to indulge in the cheesiness and melodrama (At the same time though, I feel ( ... )
