I'm going to skip over the general stories Pet Peeves like not knowing the correct forms of words, and such. These are some major items I have found in slash writing and don't understand WHY These stories are so popular and get recommended. I've a lot of pet peeves too...Especially agree with your #4. Urgh. I can't stand men who think and act like women!

But your #2 and #3 reminded me...I wrote a rape fic once...and it started out quite popular, the first few chapters were filled with rape and torture. Then, I started to focus more on the plot+characters, and I lost like...maybe more than half of my readers (my guess is two thirds or more ="=). I don't get it! I don't get it at all!

I KNOW! that's the thing I don't get either. These really popular stories, and the one that started my rant *HEH* is filled with rape on like..every chapter and she gets 200-400 reviews... EVERY. CHAPTER. The grammar is HORRIBLE the plot is non-existant and the storyline is cliche and yet It's rec'ed SO. MANY.TIMES.

I also hate when the rapist is the one that falls in love with the rapee and they live happily ever after.

Gross!

lol. Yeah. When the readers of my story realized that the main character probably won't be with the rapist, I lost even more readers. When there was no happily-ever-after...lol ( ... )

oh, but one Stockholm exception I've made was for Togainu no Chi (BL game). I mean...it didn't make any sense for the main character to fall in love with a dude who treated him like shit...but I love the pairing ShikiAki >
