Well, I feel royally fucked. I was waiting until the last minute to sign up for scifibigbang in case the Star Trek big bang idea ever went through. Well, this morning I realized that it was two days until the end of sign-ups for the SciFi Big Bang. I figured, 'well, I might forget to sign-up, so I better do it now ( Read more... )

If it makes you feel better, I was totally new to writing in any fandom when I started posting fic about a month ago. I had lurked a lot in the HP fandom before, so I was really nervous/intimidated about potential drama, more knowledgeable fans, and the potential difficulty of getting anyone to read my stories, and none of it has come true. Everyone I've met here has been really friendly and supportive, and I'm really glad I took the opportunity to get involved in newish/rebooted fandom. I think it's a lot easier to get your stories read here than if you start in something massive like HP.

Anyway, I admire you signing up for a challenge that massive. 15K scares the shit out of me. My biggest story is just over 3K, and I'm just fine with that.

Really? I can't tell you're new to the fandom at all! It's reassuring to know that not everyone's crazy. ^^

And thanks! It'll only be the second-longest fic I've ever written, so I'm excited. And lols, I'm just fine with love your story lengths too. ^^

And I finally got Dead in Dallas in the mail from Paperback Swap, so I can start that at any time. Woot.

One of my favorite Sookie Stackhouse books <3.

I'm excited! I read the first book before I started watching True Blood, but now that I'm addicted to the show I'm seeing the actors as the characters. Which isn't bad -- I love Anna Paquin -- but it can be confusing. Particularly when storylines are altered during the switch from book to tv show. Still, reading the book to find out what happens is hella easier than waiting x months for the show to tell me. ^^;;
