*thinks* would you put a *real* groove on top of a CD? I don't see why not...you could probably squeeze a 2-minute single in there...

thus making CDs reverse compatible! hmmm, you'd have to make the lacquer real thick...a bit like..er...vinyl ;)

Not that thick really - the old covermount flexidiscs are pretty thin. I have some LPs that are no thicker than a cd too, so I think it's doable. Stupid and pointless, but artistically correct!

You should be ableto laminate the equivalent of a flexidisc onto a cd, so possibly. I'm not sure how close to the centre a stylus would work, since a cd isn't that much bigger than the label in the middle of an LP. So it might be a very short track. And you'd need a spacer in the hole to keep it centred. But it would be very cool indeed.

Maplin sell CD-R disks that look like this, don't know much about them since I've never wanted to use one.
