Sam and I are spinning at Foundation this Saturday night.

my thing right now is upbeat girl pop from the 1980's. Like the Flirts, Strawberry Switchblade, and such.

Moloko?

The whole I Am Not A Doctor folks? You're using indie in such a classical sense, I think.

OMG. Look at Raisin's [sic] sick hair in the second photo here.

Are you suggesting there's something WRING with her hair there? But I'm probably using it in more the UK sense (where technically peoplelike Madonna and Kylie Minogue are, or were, even at the height of their careers, on independent labels, so ...). Cf. techno, I suppose ...

The real question is, why are we up @ this hour? Me, iwent from work to Teh Riverhorse to back to work, so ...

Yes, I remember you mentioning the graveyard shit (ahem...shift).

I worked until midnight, smoked some reefer, been watching 6 Ft. Under Season 5, in procrastination of writing a ridiculously bad write up for a junior college newspaper. It doesn't go into much depth, at all.

You know what? Trying to recover from neglecting your life is almost more embarrassing the not trying to recover from neglecting your life.

Sleep now, I guess.

I have a problem with loving albums with which I'm introduced to the band, so I really love the newest album (fuck! has there been another?), Statues.

I really dig the track "Sorry," though, which is on the same aforementioned I am not a doctor album.

Yeah...the Pandoras are nice! I know them. I found an article about girl 80's bands in the fall issue of Girls Like Us. Cranes, Curve, Swans, et cet are all good. Sleeper is classic.

I don't keep up with US bands too well either. I'm trying to (now), but for at least the past 10 years I've been all Anglomania.

I met The Pandoras in the basement of Cafe Volatire/The Odd Rock (R.I.P.). Paula Pierce rasped on aand on about "sex and drg all night." Melanie Vammen tickled my tummy (and she wrote "Camel Toe!" on my Muffs CD years later @ Shank Hall). I was afraid ...

Did drop by after Mad Planet last Saturday, but was crowded enough todiscourage me from fighting my way through @ teh Foundation, so ...

And I forgot the Welsh: Catatonia, Melys, Ectogram, Helen Love ...
