Sam and I are spinning at Foundation this Saturday night.
my thing right now is upbeat girl pop from the 1980's. Like the Flirts, Strawberry Switchblade, and such.

this is a shot of the comateens. i found this band at my other top secret music source over the weekend. i love it. they have a cover of the munsters theme, and a bowie cover...cute stuff.
So yeah, the above mentioned bands, obviously the Go-Go's, Bangles...anything else? I mean ultra ditzy pop music here, very new wave, very Valley Girl soundtrack. Darker bands that sound like Skeletal Family and Xmal Deutschland as well...the only requirements are female vocals and drum machines.
ben is supposed to hang out with me today. we're going to shop for records and drink cheap booze. instead of dating, i surround myself with really cute boys all the time, therefore, appearing to be a girl with an active sexlife.
i don't meet boys. i think that dj'ing has made this impossible, since all i get are guys old enough to be my grandfather, or creepy guys that just stare at me, spilling booze on themselves so they can watch me...and gay men.
a lot of straight girls come up to me and compliment my makeup, or ask me to play madonna. when i play madonna, they jump up and down as if they have no boobs, and it's kinda hot. then they run over and kiss their boyfriends.
you would think that a stylish girl with awesome records would make a good catch. all the dorky guys that spin have girlfriends, but most of the girl dj's i know are single.
when "my type" decides to hit on me, they're usually quite drunk, and instead of prodding into my personal life, they want to know if i have "Insert Really Really Fucking Rare 7 inch from Really Really Rare Band on Really Really Rare Defunct Record Label". And it's cute, but all this talk of records gets me kinda hot, but when they get my number, and they call, they usually just play records for me though the phone, and then the batteries die, and we never get to fuck because they've met a girl that can't even spell vinyl properly but she's a size two and she cuts his hair for freeee!
anyway. i should call ben now.
