It's not a good time to be looking for a job, period. There are very very few domains in which the jobs are easy to find....
I know what I'm talking about, been searching for more than a year now :(

I've never gotten the "tax cuts for 'job creators' will lead to jobs" either. Right now wealth is disproportionately concentrated at the top, so the middle class has no buying power. Which means they're not buying things, which means businesses have no reason to make things or provide services. Though I'm not a economist so maybe my middle-class brain just can't understand the brilliance of the GOP.

Have you thought about campaigning? Campaign season is kicking into gear, which means jobs. Though initially many positions are volunteer based, it is possible to work your way up. I'm sure the folks working to recall Walker, to recall other republican senators, to promote new democratic candidates, Tammy Baldwin's campaign, and even Feingold's group might be looking for people. Even if it is volunteer initially, it might be something to do/something to feel good about?

I've seen applicants at Quiznos with Navy experience, and a couple electrical engineering degrees.

Struck me as way overqualified and lets me know how bad things are when we have military vet engineers applying for a fast-food job that could be filled by a stoned high school kid.

My full-time job is helping people with disabilities get employment. If you'd like me to look at your cover letter or resume at all, I'd be more than glad to! Hang in there!

Not that I believe you have any kind of disability...I read that again and realized how it sounded. I'm just used to doing that type of thing on a regular basis.

Oh, don't worry, I know what you meant! I actually just got a call for an interview today, so I'll see how that goes, but I'll definitely keep your offer in mind. Thank you! :)

P.S. I think I saw on Facebook that you got a new job, yes? I can't remember if I said congrats there, so congratulations!

Technically it's the same job that I have been doing for the last 8 months or so...but that was only temporary...and now I'm a permanent state employee.

Good luck on the interview!
