A couple of days ago we stopped at our local Piggly Wiggly to pick up a few groceries, and I noticed a sign on the doors that said something like, "In order to support the Packers, we will be closing at 5:00 on Sunday, February 6th." (They're usually open until 9 ( Read more... )

Yeah, no. I live here in the heart of Philadelphia Eagles country, and I can tell you for certain that no businesses close early on account of football. I think all that dairy gets to people's heads up there. ;)

Haha. I don't know what was going on in that episode, but everyone was going crazy. Voyager is on again now, actually - Andy's going through the series again because he just got it back from his brother, who was borrowing it - and they've just met Seven of Nine.

yeaaah.... Pittsburgh is pretty nuts like that, too. we had a pep rally in elementary school when the Steelers were playing the Cowboys in Superbowl XXX.

I didn't realize that was possible. Too much time spent working at a hospital, I guess, where somebody had to be there, willing or not.

I guess it's just too much to expect that people - particularly juniors/seniors in college - would know about BIG HUGE events happening in the world.
