It seems I'm making this a twice-yearly event now. I'm off to Switzerland again to go and spend some time with drakkor and see the phins. Yay! We found them again a couple of days ago, late in the day (around 4pm). We'd been looking for a while, and were just about to give up when we spotted them. We spent nearly 2 hours with them before it got dark, and we had to head home (in the dark the whole way back -- 2 hours!). The first week I'm in New Zealand, I'm supposed to be spending with my parents. I got a call at 7am from my orca researcher friend (who I'll be staying with for the majority of the time in New Zealand, starting next Thursday) to say there were orcas in Whangarei harbour, which was about mid-way between where I was staying and she was coming from.
